Unofficial Iwo Jima Memorial

Memorial to U.S. Marines who fought in the Battle of Iwo Jima:

A small, wooden board staked into the ground next to the flag-raising site on Mount Suribachi’s summit carries rank insignia and military devices visitors have left to pay homage to those who fought the battle.

The board can be found behind the American memorial.

And for those whose public/private education has not included Iwo Jima: Iwo Jima

Security Cams

Here's what to do when you know/suspect you're being watched:

Fans

I’m not a person who considers athletes as ‘heroes’, but when a U.S. Marine asked Randall Cobb (Green Bay Packers) for an autograph, saying he was a big fan, and Randall Cobb responded, “I think I’m a bigger fan of yours.” ...  Well, alright then. Good onya, Randall.

Memorial Day 2013

Obummer's "Mission Accomplished" Fiasco

Remember when President Dubya landed on the aircraft carrier
USS Abraham Lincoln and proclaimed,
"Mission accomplished", referring to the supposed end of major combat operations in Iraq?

2003 Mission Accomplished Speech
Remember how the liberal mainstream media mocked, vilified and derided a sitting president for this?

Yes, the announcement was premature and perhaps ill-thought out, but the derision, scorn and disrespect shown to a sitting president was unbelievable.

Well, now Barack Hussein Obummer has his own 'mission accomplished' moment:

Benghazi-disaster-has-many-parents-truth-an-orphan

Neither the president nor his secretary of state nor his then anti-terrorism adviser, John Brennan, had bothered to keep track of events in Benghazi. Caught entirely unprepared by the resurgence of al-Qaeda elements, Obama was unwilling to concede that his “al-Qaeda is on its heels” was his “Mission Accomplished” moment. He went into damage control at the expense of candor…

Newsworthiness

I came across this story about

James Harrison, a very special man

and wonder why the Krappy Kardashians (and all of the other celebrity nitwits and sports 'heroes' ad nauseum) are more newsworthy than someone who actually makes a difference.

News of the Day

With all of the depressing and disgusting news this week, here is some that is excellent:

Marine and dog reunited in a surprise ceremony
Ross and Casey
Thank you to Ray Reynolds, the Iowa Elk's Association, Iowa Governor Terry Branstad, and all of those in on the surprise for making it happen
and to Sgt Ross Gundlach  for caring enough to make it all happen.

Mothers' Day 2013

Moms like Heather Seeger should be celebrated everyday, despite what fathead dipshit Roseanne Barr thinks  (Words Elude Me) .

 And for my politically friends:

Adios, Dinero

Barack Hussein Obummer was in Mexico this week.

Last time he was there, June 2012, it cost the American taxpayers* 2.5 million dollars.

Obama's last Mexico trip
Now that he doesn't have to worry about a re-election, who knows how much it will cost us.

* Notice that I don't say the American people, because a substantial number of Americans do not pay taxes, unfortunately.

Liberal. Media. Morons.

Liberal media ignore radical Islam's links to Boston bombings

And who do they blame?

Read it for yourself.
