msnbc host claims that kids belong to community, not parents

MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry recorded a commercial for the network in which she stated that children do not belong to their parents, but are instead the responsibility of the members of their community.

“...we have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents, or kids belong to their families, and recognize that kids belong to whole communities.”

 The Media Research Center’s Director of Media Analysis, Tim Graham, called the MSNBC spot "frightening.”

“It's bad enough that ‘Lean Forward’ already sounds like an ad for Mao's Little Red Book, then to have your network's hosts talk about your children being part of the Collective is just spooky,” he said...

 

No, waaaaay more than spooky.

Political Correctness Run Amuck

Apparently a bunch of adult educators  social progressive agents became freaked out over a 5-year-old "terrorist" who "threatened" to shoot another child with her Hello Kitty gun... that shoots bubbles.

    Mount Carmel Area School District officials said the girl made the threat on Jan. 10 as she waited for a school bus with friends. A school official overheard the remark and searched the girl's backpack and did not find the Hello Kitty gun.

The next day, the girls involved were 'interrogated' by school officials (WITHOUT parents being present).

By the time the girl was finished speaking to administrators about the incident, she was crying. A teacher called out the girl in front of her class and told her police may get involved.

 

Are you freaking kidding me?

There are so many things WRONG here I don't know where to begin.

_The backpack search.

_The interrogation.  (With parents it would have been horrible, without parents it is criminal.) I wonder how many adults it took to question a 5-year-old child.

_The teacher. Excuse me, social progressive agent. What a wonderful example of a human being.

_The suspension.

I reckon the child should be glad she wasn't hauled off to juvenile hall or county lock-up.

I hope her parents sue the county, the principal, the teacher social progressive agent, and anybody else who participated in this shameful farce.

Another Social Progressive Agent at Work

Samantha Pawlucy, a 16-year old student who attends Charles Carroll High School , wore a T-shirt to school on Friday. 

Her math teacher took exception, comparing her to "the worst racists in history -- the Ku Klux Klan."  (I see nothing Klannish about the above t-shirt.)

She then not only ordered the kid out of the classroom, she encouraged others to make fun of her and then went into the hall herself & tried to write on  Samantha's shirt.

In addition to the physical intimidation and interruption of education, teacher Lynette Gaymon told Samantha that wearing the shirt was the same as wearing a shirt featuring the KKK or Nazis. Ms. Gaymon added that "this is a Democratic school" and asked whether Samatha's parents were Republican.

Schools are supposed to be for the education of everyone, not just democrats, and the Pawlucy's political affiliations have nothing to do with you. 

And BTW, did you know that the KKK was started by the Democrats?

The teacher social progressive agent then said it was a joke and that she jokes around with students.

Your idea of joking around was not funny to Samantha nor to anyone with half-an-ounce of common decency, which you obviously lack.

The school district confirmed that an "incident" occurred and it is "conducting an investigation to determine whether disciplinary action is necessary".

They have to investigate this?  Really? 

 
I hope they mean disciplinary action against the teacher social progressive agent, and NOT the student.  But these days, who knows?

Does this school have any sort of no-bullying policy?

 
Is Ms Lynette Gaymon exempt?

The obvious political bias is bad enough, but bullies are not to be tolerated.
The teacher social progressive agent was not kidding around; 

 

She was bullying a student and should be fired immediately if not sooner. 

 

Not reprimanded. Not Suspended. FIRED. 

 

And her teaching credentials should be revoked. Forever.

Some comments:

Lawrence W:  Sounds like bullying to me. If a kid can get expelled for bullying, a teacher should be subject to the same rule and be fired.

Florida:  One of a bully's favorite saying "I was just kidding, can't you take a joke"?

Dooglas:  It doesn't matter what your political affiliation is or if you like Romney/Ryan or not, what this teacher did is wrong on so many levels and she  has every right to wear that shirt. This was obviously not a joke, and if it was, it is FAR from appropriate. This teacher deserves to be fired immediately. Not suspended, not transferred, fired.

Unknown Panda: Politics aside, calling the student a racist and ridiculing her in class for any reason is bad enough, but teachers assaulting students is inexcusable. Send a message and fire that teacher immediately and revoke her license. I would also like to see the teacher arrested and charged with assault..

These kinds of people use the race card to justify their own hatred, intolerance, bigotry, and ignorance. I would not tolerate having her teach my children. I am a National Board Certified Teacher with two Masters degrees in education. Get rid of her!!

But while Barr deleted her original posting, the Zimmermans’s address remains in messages in her Twitter stream. Barr’s original tweet was a retweet of a post by a new Twitter user who appears devoted to disseminating the Zimmermans’s address and phone number, as well as contact information for Joseph Oliver, who has made numerous TV appearances in support of Zimmerman, a friend and former coworker.

Still, the entertainer left open the possibility that she would again circulate the Seminole County address of Zimmerman’s parents.

  “If Zimmerman isn’t arrested I’ll rt his address again.”

  “maybe go 2 his house myself.”

There is no indication that Zimmerman, who is reportedly in hiding, is holed up in his parents’ residence.

By tweeting the Zimmermans’ address, Barr appears to have violated Twitter rules that state: “You may not publish or post other people's private and confidential information, such as credit card numbers, street address or Social Security/National Identity numbers, without their express authorization and permission.”

Has Twitter dumped Barr or at least suspended her account?

 

I have no idea as I do not use this 'service'.

_ It is my observation that the one who screams RACIST first or loudest is always the biggest one.

_ Henry Louis Gates, who is supposedly smart enough to be an educator at Harvard, should have been glad his neighbor even called the police.

 _ After saying he "did not have all the facts", Barack Hussein Obama should have replied "I cannot comment", then shut his mouth.

 Will he apologize?

 Doubt it.  He's too busy reminding everyone that he is the president.

 Perhaps Barack Hussein Obama has some sort of grudge against the Cambridge police?

You don't have to go to Detroit for a preview of America's statist Third World future. Shreveport, Louisiana offers a glimpse:

However, not only does Louisiana law allow residents to drive with loaded weapons in their vehicles, but Mr. Baillio possessed a concealed carry license!

What does such behavior demonstrate, other than transparent political profiling — going so far as to use the infamous Department of Homeland Security report on "Americans of a rightwing persuasion" as a how-to guidebook, no less?

Mr. Baillio made no secret of his political affiliations: An American flag centers a wide flourish of pro-freedom stickers and decals on his back windshield.

In fact, when Baillio asked the officer if everyone he pulls over gets the same treatment, the officer said no and pointed to the back of his truck.

 

Baillio phoned Mayor Glover
to complain about this "suspension of rights" only to find that his city's morbidly obese "commander in chief" was elated at the story:

According to Glover, Baillio got "served well, protected well, and even got a consideration that maybe [he] should not have gotten."

At this rate we'll soon look back nostalgically at the days when guys like Baillio only had their guns confiscated, instead of disappearing into reeducation camps.

Mr. Arkin is a regular military affairs columnist for the Los Angeles Times, a commentator for MSNBC; a former Greenpeacenik, and a veteran of four years in the Army (1974 to 1978); many of his bylines from the past two decades described him as a "military intelligence analyst" during his service.

What makes Mr Arkin worthy of the title?

Instead of being a strong defender of America's sovereignty, Mr. Koh argues that the distinctions between US and international law should vanish.

Including, apparently, the world of radical imams.

A New York lawyer, Steven Stein, says that, in addressing the Yale Club of Greenwich in 2007, Koh claimed that "in an appropriate case, he didn't see any reason why shari'a law would not be applied to govern a case in the United States."

And. Mr. Koh is reportedly on the short list for SCOTUS .

Boston College Gets A Clue, Students Don't

Boston College has uninvited Domestic Terrorist William Ayers from speaking on campus:

Boston College yesterday abruptly withdrew two student groups’ invitation to former radical William Ayers to speak on campus Monday.

... Ayers was a founding member of the violent radical-left anti-war group the Weather Underground, which was blamed for a series of bombings that killed several people.

Ayers, a professor of education at the University of Illinois, Chicago, was due to speak at Boston College on education reform and civic engagement at the invitation of Americans for Informed Democracy and the College Democrats. Ayers could not be reached last night, but before the decision was announced, he said: “This isn’t Saudi Arabia or Cuba. Speech is something we believe in in a democracy.”

Yes, and Ayers has also said:

“I don’t regret setting bombs. I feel we didn’t do enough.” Asked whether he would do it again, he answers, “I don’t want to discount the possibility.”

But ....

But student organizers reached last night said they want to try to hold the speech off-campus.

“All of us who have put a lot of hard work into planning and defending this event are really disappointed because we had hoped this would be an open academic forum for someone who’s widely respected,” said College Democrats member Melissa Roberts, 21. “We’re going to make sure this respected academic gets heard.”

Melissa, just what is it that you respect about William Ayers?

His ability to get away with murder and mayhem?

This is not about Caylee, the murdered two-year-old whose skeletonized remains were found December 12th, 5 months after her grandmother reported her missing, 6 months after she actually went missing, but rather about George and Cindy Anthony, Caylee's grandparents.

I acknowledge their grief; they obviously loved the child very much.

I don't have much sympathy for anything else about these two.
Their behavior during the ordeal is disturbing, to say the least.

The Anthony mantra "You need to be out looking for our granddaughter!", was usually delivered from their front yard following confrontations with non-believers (those who suspected the child was not kidnapped). Although George did drive around with a huge billboard on a trailer, that's not exactly searching. Why he felt the need to do that when the local news coverage was non-stop and wider-reaching (and free), I don't know.

They opened a trust fund: "Help Find Caylee". Twice. The original fund had been closed after the bank administering the fund received allegations of charity fraud.

They also accepted donations at a local Publix. I don't know if this money found its way into the trust fund.

Cindy is the one who called 911 to report Caylee missing.

She told the dispatcher about the smell of a dead body in her daughter's car. Now she wants us to believe it was rotting pizza. Not so, says the Body Farm.

Cindy also intentionally gave investigators the the wrong hairbrush when they requested Caylee's. Can we say obstruction of justice?

After the child's remains were found, the Anthonys announced they were accepting donations to pay for their granddaughter's burial.

Apparently they received a lot of feedback about that, as the family said a few days later that they would not seek donations.

I really hope these people are not planning ask for donations to pay for their lying, party-girl, daughter's defense.
