Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano says the use of full-body scanners and invasive pat-downs at airports around the country will not change for the "foreseeable future".

She also dismissed a news report about major airports failing secret tests designed to get guns and knives past security screeners.

Pilot Punished

The High LowLights:

An airline pilot is being disciplined by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for posting video on YouTube pointing out what he believes are serious flaws in airport security.

The pilot has worked for the airline for more than a decade and was deputized by the TSA to carry a gun in the cockpit.

Three days after he posted a series of six video clips recorded with a cell phone camera at San Francisco International Airport, four federal air marshals and two sheriff's deputies arrived at his house to confiscate his federally-issued firearm.

At the same time as the federal marshals took the pilot's gun, a deputy sheriff asked him to surrender his state-issued permit to carry a concealed weapon.

A follow-up letter from the sheriff's department said the CCW permit would be reevaluated following the outcome of the federal investigation.

A letter from the TSA dated Dec. 6 informed the pilot that "an administrative review into your deputation status as a Federal Flight Deck Officer has been initiated."

The pilot's attorney said he believed the federal government sent six people to the house to send a message.

"And the message was you've angered us by telling the truth and by showing America that there are major security problems despite the fact that we've spent billions of dollars allegedly to improve airline safety," Werno said.

No Nukes ... for Us

Barack Hussein Obama is revising our nuclear policy by reducing our nuclear capability and pledging not to use nuclear weapons against most non-nuclear countries ... no matter what they use against us.

No kidding.

Barky Obummer is counting on the good will of our enemies to, you know, follow our example by reducing their weapons stockpiles and not developing or testing new ones. He wants to make nukes obsolete.

So the message this incompetent ass is sending to our enemies is this:

"If any nation wants to attack the United States with chemical, biological, or electromagnetic pulse weapons, it need not fear nuclear retaliation as long as it has no nuclear weapons and abides by the Non Proliferation Treaty. So, as New Yorkers (or Washingtonians, or Atlantans...) are coughing their lungs out from mustard gas or dying in the streets of biological weapons, they will know that their government will not use nuclear weapons to retaliate against their murderers."

Barack Obama Gets an "F" for (not) Protecting Americans

The Highlights:

There is no more solemn duty for an American commander-in-chief than the marshaling of  “all elements of American power” – the phrase Obama himself used on Monday – to protect the people of the United States. In that key respect, Obama failed on Christmas Day, just as President George W. Bush failed on September 11th (though he succeeded in the seven years after that).

Yes, the buck stops in the Oval Office. Obama may have rather smugly given himself a “B+” for his 2009 performance but he gets an F for the events that led to Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab boarding a Detroit-bound plane in Amsterdam with a PETN bomb sewn into his underpants.  He said today that a  “systemic failure has occurred”.

Well, he’s in charge of that system.

The picture we’re getting is more and more alarming by the hour. Here are some key elements to consider:

...  Abdulmutallab’s father spoke several times to the US Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria and visited a CIA officer there to tell him, apparently, that he feared his son was a jihadist being trained in Yemen.  According to CNN, the CIA officer wrote up a report, which then sat in the CIA headquarters at Langley for several weeks without being disseminated to the rest of the intelligence community. 

...  In his studied desire to be the unBush by responding coolly to events like this, Obama is dangerously close to failing as a leader. Yes, it is good not to shoot from the hip and make broad assertions without the facts.

    But Obama took three days before speaking to the American people, emerging on Monday in between golf and tennis games in Hawaii to deliver a rather tepid address that significantly underplayed what happened. He described Abdulmutallab as an “isolated extremist” who “allegedly tried to ignite an explosive device on his body” phrases that indicate a legalistic, downplaying approach that alarms rather than reassures. 

   In the meantime, he went snorkeling.

 ... There has been a pattern developing with the Obama administration trying to minimize terrorist attacks. We saw it with Abdul Hakim Mujahid Muhammad, a Muslim convert who murdered a US Army recruit in Little Rock, Arkansas in June. We saw it with Major Nidal Malik Hassan, a Muslim with Palestinian roots who slaughtered 13 at Fort Hood, Texas last month.  In both cases, there were Yemen connections.

... Guantanamo Bay ...  As Mike Goldfarb asks: “Is the Obama administration seriously still considering sending some 90 Yemeni detainees now being held at Gitmo back to their country of origin, where al Qaeda are apparently running around with impunity?”

... Janet Napolitano, Obama’s Homeland Security Chief, has been a disaster in this, exhibiting the kind of bureaucratic complacency that makes ordinary citizens want to go postal.

... There’s a continued, unfortunate tendency for everyone in Obamaland to preface every comment about something going wrong with a sideswipe against the Bush administration. ...  It’s bordering on the juvenile. Obama’s been president for a year now. It’s time for him to accept that things that happen as his responsibility, not Bush’s. It’s time for him to echo Ronald Reagan, who said over Iran-Contra: “I take full responsibility for my own actions and for those of my administration.”

As with the Clinton co-presidency, the buck stops somewhere down the hall.

Gitmo North

Despite the sheer idiocy of deliberately bringing terrorists into this country ...

The old maximum-security state prison in Standish, Michigan (145 miles from Detroit), which the state is closing, may become the new home of the 229 suspected al-Qaida, Taliban, and foreign fighters currently being held at Guantanamo Bay.

The local residents want the prison to stay open, but not for Gitmo transferees.

Governor Jennifer Granholm said she would rather take in prisoners from other states, such as California, than the Guantanamo detainees.

Leavenworth, Kansas, the second place on the list, doesn't want 'em either. In May, residents there told Senator Pat Roberts at a town hall meeting that 95% of the local community opposes it

Keeping in mind that Michigan has one of the largest Muslim populations in the U.S. (if not THE largest), it's not too much of a stretch to imagine Muslim guards guarding the Muslim internees, especially if this prison is run by the Feds (Bureau of Prisons).

Arif Alikhan, currently deputy mayor for the city of Los Angeles, was appointed as assistant secretary for the Office of Policy Development at the Department of Homeland Security.

Muslim Democrats welcome Alikhan’s appointment.

      Back in 2007, Alikhan was instrumental in Removing the Muslim terror tracking plan in L.A.

Secret List Of Nuke Sites Accidentally Released.

Are you effing kidding?

Had anyone in the Previous Administration allowed this to happen, there would be screams for heads to roll!

But not in the era of Hope'nChange where the publication of a 266-page list of 103 U.S. nuclear sites, some of which were "highly confidential safeguards sensitive", and which details the location and work done there, is apparently no big deal.

The list was published MAY 6th and just recently taken down!

"There are "zero" national security implications to the publication of this document", said Steven Aftergood, director of the Federation of American Government's Project on Government Secrecy.

"I regret that some people are painting it as a roadmap for terrorists because that's not what it is," Aftergood said.

"This is not a disclosure of sensitive nuclear technologies or of facility security procedures. It is simply a listing of the numerous nuclear research sites and the programs that are under way," Aftergood said. "And so it poses no security threat whatsoever."

Hey, Mr Aftergood, perhaps you could define "highly confidential safeguards sensitive" and the reasons for this classification for me.

Guns & Missiles & Nukes, Oh My!

  Barack Hussein Obama has called for a "world without nuclear weapons", which means that we (The USA) will have none while North Korea and Iran continue developing them. 

 Make no mistake, that is what they are doing. 

 And I'm pretty sure that Russia, India and Pakistan will not be giving up their entire arsenals. 

 Maybe a few older bombs, you know, to look good. 

 How secure does that make you feel?  

 It's kinda like the anti-gun lobby wanting to disarm the citizens by legislating gun control. 

  All this does is prevent the honest folks who believe in self-protection from having the means to do just that.

  Meanwhile the bad guys keep their guns. 

  So the next time you're confronted by someone waving something that shoots a supersonic projectile (bullet) in a shopping center parking lot, or in your workplace, or classroom, or even in your own home, maybe you can quote the proposed gun control laws to them.

Aew would tell me later that she sat quietly, but “Inside I was crying.” She had been so excited to finally visit America. America, the only country ever to coerce her at the border. This is against everything I know about winning and losing the subtle wars. This is against everything I love about the United States. We are not supposed to behave like this. Aew would tell me later that she thought she would be arrested if she did not give the password.

The Government of the United States was reading the private e-mails of a U.S. citizen (me). The Department of “Homeland Security” was at work, intimidating visitors with legitimate visas. They had at least 24 hours to check her out before she landed in the United States. What kind of security is this? The Department of Homeland Security was at this moment more like the Department of Intimidation."

Clintonian Fool: David Tarbell

David Tarbell, director of the Defense Technology Security Administration under Clinton-Gore, ordered the mass shredding of Pentagon records that could have documented some of the most serious Chinagate allegations against the Clinton-Gore administration.

Clinton Hold-over Orders Secret Documents Destroyed

When the DTSA moved its offices, Tarbell, a Clinton holdover at the Pentagon, told subordinates that the new facility couldn't accommodate the documents.

These documents included top secret intelligence reports on foreign weapons programs and front companies, and memoranda documenting Pentagon decisions to allow U.S. companies to sell advanced technology directly to Russian and Chinese military facilities.

Much of the secret material was so highly restricted that documents had to be signed out when viewed. At Tarbell's direction, even those access logs have been destroyed, erasing any paper trail that might show who handled the super-sensitive records.

The entire record of what happened over the past eight years is gone.

"Dave Tarbell bears personal responsibility for giving the Chinese military everything they need to fight the next war. He has been highly successful -- in giving away our military technology." --Stephen D. Bryen, a DOD official under Reagan/Bush.

Bryen created DTSA in 1985 as part of President Reagan's effort to deny the Soviet Union access to advanced Western military technology. He has been a vocal critic of the Clinton administration's decontrol of sensitive technology, testifying before Congress repeatedly on the importance of maintaining controls on U.S. military exports to slow China's military modernization.

"Tarbell endorsed the Clinton administration plans to decontrol supercomputers, which have all gone into the Chinese nuclear-weapons and missile programs. He backed the release of hot-section technology, which has enabled the Chinese military to build new combat jet engines. He promoted the decontrol of military-grade Global Positioning System technologies, which the Chinese are now using to guide their nuclear missiles. He ought to be fired and find another job."

He damn well ought to go to prison.
