Person of the Month : Ike Boutwell

"A central Kentucky theater owner who trained pilots during the Vietnam War is refusing to show the nation's top movie, "The Butler" because one of the stars is Jane Fonda who was an outspoken opponent of the conflict.
Boutwell said Fonda's statements and demonstrations against the Vietnam War caused him to view her as a traitor, and he won't show any movie involving her in his theaters.

The Korean War veteran said: "I trained hundreds of pilots to fly, many of whom Ms. Fonda clapped and cheered as they were shot down."
Ms Fonda, self-proclaimed socialist & admirer of communism*, was more than an outspoken opponent;   she went to North Vietnam, was photographed smiling and laughing while sitting on North Vietnamese anti-aircraft guns, the same guns that were shooting down American pilots.

She also met with American POWs and told American media they were being well-treated and not tortured.   This was blatantly untrue.

When the POWs returned home in 1973, they contradicted Hanoi Jane's widely reported statements to which her response was to call these men "hypocrites and liars".

Note: In the lower left corner are anti-aircraft shells ready to be used to shoot down American planes.

Good for you Mr. Boutwell.

We don't watch any of Hanoi Jane's movies anywhere, anyhow.

*On November 21, 1970 she told an audience of about 2,000 University of Michigan students, "If you understood what communism was, you would hope, you would pray on your knees that we would some day become communist."

She repeated this at Duke University, adding "I, a socialist, think that we should strive toward a socialist society, all the way to communism."

Celebrity Nitwit: Letterman, Again

I don't watch this guy anymore, not because I don't think he's funny, he does have his moments, but I cannot abide his obviously biased politics.

Letterman called Mitt Romney a "felon" and suggested he does not pay income tax.
"Yeah, we want to get a look at those tax returns because I believe we will discover that the man has not paid a nickel in United States federal income tax," Letterman said. "That’s right, we have a felon running for president."

A letter from Price Waterhouse Coopers states that Romney paid an average of 20 percent in taxes every year from 1999 to 2009. His 2011 taxes were mostly paid on investment income.

Hey, dumbass Dave, what are your thoughts on Timothy Geithner, the Secretary of the Treasury, who did not pay federal taxes because he forgot or he couldn't figure out how Turbo Tax works or some such crapola?

Words elude me ....

From Blackfive

In this day and age, we have a whole new crop of know-nothing celebrities who seem to revel in their ignorance and are happy to display it to everyone on a fairly routine basis

In a Twitter exchange with a Naval officer’s wife, she managed to quickly remove all doubt that she’s familiar with the concept of military service or what it means (or, more likely, is simply showing a side of her anti-military self) and even manages to make the point that she’s unfamiliar with the meaning of the words she uses.

Her misplaced condescension is classic.  It is the wife of the Naval officer who is entitled to be condescending with Barr, given Barr’s comment:

rosanne

That’s right all you military types out there, you live off the dole.  You’re simply welfare recipients which the government dresses up like trees (or sand or pixels) and deploys to areas where apparently other welfare recipients take pot shots at you and try to kill you.

Wow, I’ve heard of welfare to work programs, but surely this isn’t what they mean is it?

So what do you do when one runs across gross ignorance from someone who thinks they’re both intelligent and well spoken?  OK, I said they “think” they are, I didn’t say a thing about that being true.

And there's more, but you get the gist.

The Vigilante Posse Grows

Add Roseanne Barr's name to the list even though she says she doesn't support vigilantism:

MARCH 29--The comedian Roseanne Barr last night tweeted the home address of George Zimmerman’s parents to her 110,000-plus Twitter followers, only to delete the posting after “not fully understanding that it was private not public.”

“But vigilante-ism is what killed Trayvon. I don’t support that.”
...Then why tweet the address ? ...
But while Barr deleted her original posting, the Zimmermans’s address remains in messages in her Twitter stream. Barr’s original tweet was a retweet of a post by a new Twitter user who appears devoted to disseminating the Zimmermans’s address and phone number, as well as contact information for Joseph Oliver, who has made numerous TV appearances in support of Zimmerman, a friend and former coworker.

Still, the entertainer left open the possibility that she would again circulate the Seminole County address of Zimmerman’s parents.
“If Zimmerman isn’t arrested I’ll rt his address again.”
“maybe go 2 his house myself.”

There is no indication that Zimmerman, who is reportedly in hiding, is holed up in his parents’ residence.

By tweeting the Zimmermans’ address, Barr appears to have violated Twitter rules that state: “You may not publish or post other people's private and confidential information, such as credit card numbers, street address or Social Security/National Identity numbers, without their express authorization and permission.”
Has Twitter dumped Barr or at least suspended her account?

I have no idea as I do not use this 'service'.

But I'll bet she is still tweeting, because she's a so-called celeb, even tho just a C-lister.

Some of 400+ comments:

So much for due process. This kind of behavior is the same group think that leads to witch hunts. Be careful in your search for justice that you may become what you stand against.

"Celebrity Activists" just might be the most vile, ignorant, uninformed, self-absorbed, pandering a**holes on the planet. Especially the ones who no longer have an actual career.

I find this whole hysteria repugnant. Have ALL of the facts before you organize the lynch mob. Isn't this exactly what all the fuss is about anyway? Would this have spiraled so out of control if the dead boy were white, Asian, Native American or Hispanic? I have been afraid to comment because of this mindless mob who will act first and think (maybe) later, but this is just too much!

Oops, His Bad!

In the rush to judgement, just forget waiting for the facts and evidence, go ahead and trample the innocent.

I hope that Mr. and Mrs. McClain sue the baggy pants off Marcus Davonne Higgins and Spike Lee:

OOPS, my bad!

Some of the 223 comments:

I hope they receive a mountain of cash in a lawsuit against Lee and the other radicals carelessly throwing about their address!

"Star erroneously linked Floridians to man who killed Trayvon Martin".
"Erroneously"? Try stupidly and irresponsibly.

Isn't that nice....Obama's friends are terrorizing an old couple. Of course his look-alike son ( the little angel ) wouldn't want to see that happen. But you know, if some of those old white folks get capped, that would be o.k. because...they are all racist yada yada yada.

It really shows what hateful, spiteful, evil people liberals often are. Zimmerman hasn't been charged with anything. Essentially he's already been acquitted. Eventually the liberals will walk away. And will look for the next innocent person to destroy.

It's so true, and it really is ironic considering the lynch mobs that existed 100 years ago that blacks are so fond of bringing up as proof of modern day racism. The negros are now forming the lynch mob.

Meanwhile, as Jesse Jackson , Al Sharpton and Obama Pursue their war on whitie, the cost of gas and healthcare skyrockets, and millions of easily distracted democrats forget how crappy his hope and change is working out. Oh... And senate democrats submit a budget that will add another 6 trillion dollars of debt.

If these people, Lee et.al., were white they'd be called a lynch mob.

Thank you for quoting the code. It reminded me that Obama administration put out a warning about 'militias' early on, but the warning was about Christian, conservative, returning war heroes in a bad economy. I wonder if they will now do something about this black militia calling for the 'capture of Zimmerman dead or alive' and their stating that if the system does give them justice, they will do it themselves? Or if they will go after Farrakhan for saying that vengeance is now legal? The Black Panthers are calling for vigilante justice, and this could incite riots and murder. Where is Janet 'domestic militias are dangerous' Napolitano in this?

This could classify as terrorist behavior. Just as much as those thugs, the black panthers' putting out a 10k bounty on Zimmerman's head. Question is... where is the DHS? Why aren't they rounding up the punks and throwing their sorry A's into Gitmo with the other terrorists? Oh, I guess their too busy shoving their hands up the underwear of old ladies at the airport. And don't even get me started on Eric Holder, the panther's best homey.

Anthony Amore, Right On!

Very big kudos to  Anthony Amore
 who wrote this terrific piece:

Last Friday, Osbrany Montes De Oca, a Lance Corporal in the United States Marines, set out to begin his patrol in the Helmand province of Afghanistan. As he was walking out of his base, his girlfriend said, he was ambushed by Taliban forces who shot and killed the 20 year old mortarman from New Jersey.

Lance Cpl. Montes De Oca was barely through his first year in service to his country when he made the ultimate sacrifice. But this young man's passion for his country is the stuff from which legends are made. Born in the Dominican Republic, he left behind a beautiful young girlfriend--"the love of my life" he called her--to enlist in the greatest volunteer force the world has ever known on a mission to bring stability to a country still suffering the ravages of Islamist fanaticism.

His patriotism was shared by his twin brother, Osmany. The Star-Ledger reported that the brothers joined the Marine Corps after graduating high school, telling family members that they wanted to serve their country and fight those who would harm it. The twins' commitment to service was so great that it actually rubbed off on their older brother, Sandro, who followed the lead of his kid brothers and enlisted as well.

America lost one of its best and brightest on that Friday in Afghanistan. But you'd hardly know it from following the news. Why? Because on Saturday another child of New Jersey, Whitney Houston, died.

Houston was born into a successful family that one might even call privileged. Her father (a former serviceman) was an entertainment executive. Her aunt was Dionne Warwick. Her godmother, Aretha Franklin. Houston grew to become one of the most awarded entertainers in history -- and one of its biggest failures. Watching the last decade and a half of Houston's life was tantamount to watching a car crash. Watching her husband's reality show, Being Bobby Brown, was like rubbernecking from the couch. Houston went from being a beautiful young singer and actress to a drug-addled mess. She was a mockery of her former self.

So when she died on Saturday, the word "tragedy" was thrown around like penny candy. By the following Tuesday morning, a Google search of the terms "Whitney Houston" and "tragedy" resulted in 148 million hits.

Meanwhile, a search for the term "Osbrany Montes De Oca" resulted in under 800 hits. As a Marine, that probably would be fine with Lance Cpl. Montes De Oca. He'd see himself as part of a unit, as a member of the 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. And that's exactly what makes him a hero.
But no one mentioned Lance Cpl. Montes De Oca during the Grammys. There was no moment of silence or prayers for him. While CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News all broke from their regularly-scheduled programming to deliver non-stop coverage of the singer's death, barely a word was said about the soldier's. The love and adulation and respect were all offered to Whitney Houston.

Maybe we as a nation ought to spend more time being grateful for people like him, instead of paying incessant tribute to yet another dead celebrity.
And THAT says it all!

And Kudos also to Huffington Post for posting it.

     (Never thought I'd say that!)

Hawaii Five-Oops ?

The National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific , located in Punchbowl Crater just north of Honolulu, is the final resting place of over 30,000 veterans of World Wars I and II, Korea, and Vietnam.

And it is the site of an unforgivable show of disrespect to not only every veteran interred there, especially the ones whose graves were trod all over, but also to the 23 veterans who survived the December 7, 1941, attack on Pearl Harbor who were special guests that day.

Hanoi Jane

Jane Fonda is upset.
"I was to have been on QVC today to introduce my book, “Prime Time”, about aging and the life cycle. The network said they got a lot of calls yesterday criticizing me for my opposition to the Vietnam War and threatening to boycott the show if I was allowed to appear. I am, to say the least, deeply disappointed that QVC caved to this kind of insane pressure by some well funded and organized political extremist groups.
snip ... "Bottom line, this has gone on far too long, this spreading of lies about me! None of it is true. NONE OF IT! I love my country. I have never done anything to hurt my country or the men and women who have fought and continue to fight for us."

Well, Ms Fonda, the membership of the 'extremist groups' that you mention are no doubt made up of those of us who remember how you went to North Vietnam in 1972  and cavorted with an NVA anti-aircraft gun crew, the very same guns that shot down American planes; how you also participated in a staged press conference with unwilling American POWs, the purpose of which was to "prove" that American prisoners weren't being mistreated by their Viet Cong captors.

Years afterward, when the then-released POWs described the very real torture and degradation they had suffered at the hands of the North Vietnamese, you dismissed them as "hypocrites and liars."

Yes, Ms Fonda, you certainly have first-hand personal knowledge of hypocrites. You define the word.

And as far as "far right lies", here's a picture of you sitting on the damn gun surrounded by North Vietnamese soldiers (aka the enemy).

And you have apparently forgotten about the documentary about a political troupe headed by yourself and Donald Sutherland which traveled to towns near military bases in the US in the early 1970s, putting on shows called “F.T.A.”, which stood for “F**k the Army”, aimed at convincing soldiers to voice their opposition to the Vietnam War, which was raging at the time.

But you never did "anything to hurt my country or the men and women who have fought and continue to fight for us."

Riiiight.

The "C" Word

"C" as in  CREEPY,  CLASSLESS,  CRASS.

But not Comedy.

Yes, I'm talking about David Letterman, who admitted to doing 'creepy things' (i.e. having sex with his staff members).

While I wouldn't necessarily term having extramarital or extra-relationship sex as 'creepy', I do think David Letterman is creepy and even creepier was the audience response.

True Celebrity

Sometimes the inequality and unfairness of things just appalls and disgusts me.

 I'm not even talking politics.

I'm referring to our celebrity-worshipping society with its emphasis on entertainment.

Consider this: "Octomom"Nadya Suleman's 14 children will each receive $250 per day (on camera) for appearing in a new reality show

The combat pay allowance* for an enlisted Marine or soldier who puts his life on the line for his country 24/7 is $225.    That's per month.

So, please explain to me the logic of this.

*This is in addition to basic pay and other allowances.

Now I AM Pissed

I just now had to turn off the morning Fox and Friends show.

I am fed up to the ears with the continuous news coverage of Michael Jackson's death.

He did not contribute anything to this world other than entertainment.

His death was not due to any sort of heroic cause.

He is not a hero.

Now we have to hear about Michael Jackson's 11-year-old daughter's 'emotional speech' at her father's Memorial Extravaganza.

The child did not give a speech. There were no tears on her face.

See for yourself.

I am not slamming the child.  I am not saying she didn't love her daddy.

I am taking issue with the media.

And the Jackson Family's attempt at drumming up pathos.
(There might be a DVD to sell.)

If you want real emotion and real tears, go to a funeral for a real hero.

The Michael Jackson Memorial Extravaganza

I'd be pissed if I were a resident of the financially strapped state of California ...

because they are going to get stuck with paying the million+ dollar Tab for the Michael Jackson Memorial Extravaganza ... even though the entire thing will no doubt be made into a DVD to be sold for millions of dollars, none of which -I'm betting- will go towards paying any of the reported $400 MILLION debt owed by Jackson before his death nor the $3.5 million for the afore-mentioned extravaganza.

The
services provided by the city of Los Angeles:
• At least 1,400 police officers to keep the peace

          • Workers from the Department of Transportation to arrange and enforce street closures

          • Still more workers from the Department of Public Works to keep the area clean and operating

          • Fire and rescue specialists, just in case too many rabid fans moonwalk into one another out in the streets.

And get this:
And just in case you still think it's disrespectful to the dead to be discussing money like this, a note: According to Zine—who got this information from an official at the Los Angeles Coliseum—the Jacksons briefly mulled doing their memorial there. And they also were considering charging for the tickets.

Celebrity Nitwit: David Letterman

This guy hasn't been funny in a very long time.

His recent 'jokes' about Sarah Palin's daughter "getting knocked up by Alex Rodriguez" and "solicited by Eliot Spitzer"
maintains his record.

His so-called 'apology', filled with moral indignation:

“These are not jokes made about her 14-year-old daughter. I would never, never make jokes about raping or having sex of any description with a 14-year-old girl…”
Of course you wouldn't. People might think you are sexually perverted.

But you weren't talking about Willow Palin, age 14. You were talking about Bristol Palin, age 18. You did not mention a name in your so-called joke.

And how is that better?

A 62-year old man making sexual fun of an 18-year old girl is supposed to be okay?

Michelle Malkin asks:

Dear David Letterman,
Will you teach your son to talk about women and girls the way you talk about Sarah Palin and her daughters?

It's one thing to mock, deride and denigrate adult politicians.
It's quite another to mock, deride and denigrate their children.

Stephen King Channels John Kerry

(with apologies to Josh Painter at
Redstate.com , from whom I snagged the title)

Stephen King, author, liberal, idiot:
"I don't want to sound like an ad, a public service ad on TV, but the fact is if you can read, you can walk into a job later on. If you don't, then you've got, the Army, Iraq, I don't know, something like that. It's, it's not as bright. So, that's my little commercial for that."
Perhaps you should read this, Mr. King:

Debunking the Myth of the Underprivileged Soldier

and this:

Claude Berube: Chamberlain's Ghost in Salem's Lot

The military services are filled with intelligent men and women who can not only read, but put their lives on the line daily while 'celebrities', politicians, writers and other 'elitists' and defeatists make denigrating comments about those who have chosen to serve their country in uniform.

UPDATE: Apparently the back-lash has gotten under Mr King's thin skin. From a message SK posted at stephenking.com:

"That a right-wing-blog would impugn my patriotism because I said children should learn to read, and could get better jobs by doing so, is beneath contempt."
Well, Mr King, you were correct in exhorting children to learn to read.

But that is not quite all you said.

"It's not as bright."
Your words, Mr King, referring directly to ... "the Army... something like that."

Whereas Hanoi John Kerry attempted to excuse his words by claiming it was 'a botched joke' slamming the Commander-in-Chief, Mr King made no such attempt to disguise his military-bashing.

Mr. King has the right to speak out against any policy, any war. But he failed to provide fact-driven objectivity and diminished his case by belittling military personnel. In the process, he gave the impression that his fiction isn’t restricted to what comes out of his pen." - Claude Berube
Bluto at the Jawa report has an excellent response:
"For the record, I don't impugn King's patriotism because he wants tiny, cute little children to learn to read. On the contrary, since the American military doesn't accept illiterates, patriotic youth hoping to serve their country should get the best education they can. The also-rans can always read Stephen King novels while waiting for their Welfare checks."

It is the Soldier, not the reporter who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the Soldier, not the poet who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer who gives us freedom to demonstrate.

It is the Soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag.

The "B" Word

B is for Behar - as in Joy Behar.

B is also for Bitch - as in Joy Behar.

Last month “The View” co-host Joy Behar appeared on the Bill Maher show and called Michelle Malkin a “selfish bitch”.

She's now bitching about John McCain because he didn’t say anything when a (female) supporter referred to Hillary Clinton as a “bitch.”

Ms Behar doesn't mind throwing the B-word around herself but objects when others do it ...

Partial Transcript, The View, November 15th:
Watch and Listen
WHOOPI GOLDBERG: A woman at a John McCain rally said to him, “how do we beat the bitch?”

JOY BEHAR: He is a gentleman, usually, McCain. It would have been nice for him to say “Well, you know, I think you’re referring to my opponent and I don’t particularly like the way you’re refer to her.” That’s all. It would have been nice and respectful to say that. That’s all.   [Applause]

SHEPHERD: What I’m saying is the same could be said, she felt Hillary Clinton was a bitch. And so she said it.

BEHAR: No, that’s a personal assault on the woman.

SHEPHERD: You do personal assaults on President Bush.

BEHAR: Yes, I do.

SHEPHERD: So what’s the difference? What’s the difference?

BEHAR: The difference is that I don’t like him.  [Laughter]

Apparently the rules about calling people "bitch" are extremely complex, involving gender tensions and social dynamics as well as depending on who's addressing whom.

Somebody should bitch-slap the bitchy Behar before the next bitchfest begins.

Nuts and Bolts For Nuts

This means, You, Rosie O'Donnell, and the multitude of morons that believe the incredibly stupid things that come out of your mouth.

In regards to your theory regarding the 'truth' about the collapse of the WTC on 9-11:

The magical secret:
It doesn’t have to actually melt the steel. All it has to do is weaken the steel in one critical column in a building constructed a certain way, and down she comes.

Page 3

But the bottom line:
The images accompanying this article are taken from a CBS News Archives video to show key points observed during the collapse. As seen in the photos, a kink develops in the east penthouse before it falls into the building. The west penthouse then fails, followed by a kink in the entire facade of the building. Total collapse follows.

This sequence of events, with roof elements sinking into a building with an intact facade, suggests an interior failure. An interior failure would explain the appearance of a “controlled” collapse with a relatively small debris field, as seen with WTC 7.

Whoopi, Another FOOL

I don't always agree with what Susan Estrich writes, but she happens to be absolutely right about the following:
"Whoopi, a woman who is clearly at her best delivering lines written by other people, used her first day on “The View” to insult every dog-loving American from the South.

You know, that region of the country where it’s part of the culture to torture dogs, and drown them and hang them if they don’t run fast enough to please you.

According to Whoopi’s defense of the disgusting criminal named Michael Vick, abusing dogs “is part of his cultural upbringing."

Cultural upbringing? Is this how Whoopi raises her family?

"For a lot of people, dogs are sport. Instead of just saying he is a beast and he's a monster, this is a kid who comes from a culture where this is not questioned."

What is wrong with this woman? Torturing dogs, putting them on a “rape stand” to force them to breed, hitting them with sharp sticks to make them run faster, and then executing the ones who don’t, doesn’t fit any definition of “sport” I’ve ever heard of, at least outside of concentration camps.

Michael Vick is a 27 year-old multimillionaire, not a “kid” who deserves anyone’s sympathy or understanding.

I don’t know what “culture” it is where this kind of behavior is “not questioned,” but wherever it is, federal authorities should be investigating it.

Why would any semi-sentient person want to listen to this woman’s “views?”
Why does she get a megaphone to spread vile?
Ms Goldberg spent her 2nd day on 'The View', denying she ever defended Michael Vick, saying the media misunderstood when she said she could see how Vick could get into dog-fighting growing up in the South.

Why should growing up in the South be an excuse for abominable behavior?

Because Southerners are ... what?

Please give me a clue, Ms Goldberg.
Oh, wait, you don't have one.
And couldn't that "part of his cultural upbringing" remark be considered just a bit, well, racist?

If a white person had said that, Whoopi and Brothers Al and Jesse would have been all over it like flies on dog poop.

I'm fed up with these celebrity idiots and political fools and every dimwit in between who whine about all the problems in this country and continue to say and do things which just keep fomenting all the same damn problems.

Seems to me like 'The View' has replaced one big-mouthed idiot Fool with another big-mouthed idiot Fool.

I won't be watching this one either.

YouthFOOL Degeneration

It's a sad, sorry indictment of our society that the obsession with the personal implosions and criminal 'adventures' of ditzy, dipwad youthFOOL celebrities so dominates the broadcast and print media and h
as such an influence on others.

Britney 'Commando' Spears, Paris 'Jailbird Twit' Hilton, Lindsay Loser LiLo Lohan, Nicole 'Why Does She Rate 2 Minutes of Time?' Ritchie, belong in jail and/or serious rehab, not the fashionable California-style revolving-door rehab where they can check themselves in and out to go shopping.

How about sending these
shameless, unapologetic, spoiled rich brats who have no personal boundaries, no regard for the law, and no class,   to a place that just might make a difference in their lives.

Like, say, Maricopa County's lockup run by Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
Now THAT I'd watch.

I don't want to spend my time trying to avoid reading the miles (and miles) of print and avoid watching the hours (and hours) of broadcast time devoted to
these youthFOOL idiots wasting their lives when there are many young people whose lives are so much worthier.

But unfortunately not news-worthier.

For instance, does anyone remember the names of the two young American soldiers taken captive in Iraq last May?

They are Byron Fouty

                              and
Alex Jimenez

Can you name the 22-year old U.S.M.C. Marine who was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor?

Corporal Jason Dunham

If you want to do some in-depth coverage on someone, how about "the most wounded GI",  Joseph Briseno Jr and his family?

Or U.S. Marine Sgt.
James 'Eddie' Wright, who became a martial arts instructor despite losing both hands in Iraq?

Or
Lori Piestewa, believed to be the first American Indian woman killed in combat ?

The real sacrifices made by these young people who live(d) their lives with honor and courage, who never sought the spotlight but who so absolutely deserve it, are worth far more than anything Britney, Paris or Li-Lo could ever hope to accomplish.
