The Senate Family

The here-to-fore non-politically-ambitious
Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg has declared herself a candidate for the Senate seat-to-be-vacated upon the presumed departure of the Hildabeast for the State Department.

She seems to think it is hers for the taking. Because of her name.

New Yorkers, in a monumental act of logic, have decried Mrs. Schlossberg's lack of (political) experience and indeed her whole work ethic. As well they should.

But Mrs. Schlossberg isn't the only one who believes that a US Senate seat is a family entitlement. Her Uncle Teddy has proclaimed that when he dies, he wants his Senate seat to go to his wife, Victoria, so it can "stay in the family". Nevermind what the voters of Massacusetts might want.
And Democrats believe that Ted Kaufman, Joe Biden's longtime aide, newly appointed to Joe Biden's vacant Senate seat, is merely holding it for Beau Biden, son of, you guessed it, until the 2010 elections.

We should be grateful that Obummer does not have a family member eligible for that available Illinois seat.

Here are a couple of thoughts:
_Don't appoint replacements, ELECT them. period.

_Allow candidates to run for only ONE elected office at a time. (In 2004, John Kerry ran for the Presidency and re-election to the Senate at the same time).

_And have the idiot running for higher office resign his/her seat upon clinching the nomination. Like Bob Dole did back in 1996.

I only hope that people remember all this discussion about experience and entitlement when Mini-Me Clinton pops up. And she will.

Fallen Hero: Major John Pryor, M.D.

I found this post on BlackFive which I have copied in part here.

The story of Major Pryor deserves telling as often as possible.

Major John P. Pryor was killed by enemy fire on Christmas.

Major Pryor was a surgeon, and not just any surgeon.
He was the leader of the University of Pennsylvania's trauma team, arguably one of the best in the nation, and was a combat surgeon who operated with frontline units. On September 11, 2001 he raced to Ground Zero to volunteer his services.

From the
Washington Post:
Despite what he acknowledged in an undated document left with family was the high personal cost of going to serve, for he felt that family and others did not fully support his decision, he went anyway as he felt it was the right thing to do. This time, he was with the 1st Medical Detachment, Forward Surgical Team in Mosul, Iraq when killed by shrapnel from a mortar round.

In an August 2007 article published in The Washington Post, Pryor wrote:
"In Iraq, soldiers die for freedom, for honor, for their country and for their buddies. Here in Philadelphia, they die without honor, without purpose, for no country, for no one."

Barky Obummer, Poser

President-Elect Barky Obummer visited Marines at Kaneohoe Bay during his Hawaiian vacation. He spent about an hour at the dining hall, shaking hands and posing for pictures.

Sunlen Miller reports:

"As Obama entered the room, it was absent of the regular fanfare of cheering and clapping. The diners were polite, staying seated at their respective tables and waited for the president-elect to come to them to stand up."
H/T: Gateway Pundit

It would have been nice if Barky could have found another hour to visit Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu. Tripler is the largest military hospital in the Asian and Pacific Rim region.

Obummer's Xmas Message

The President-Elect, who has NOT been coronated, er inaugurated, yet ... has urged Americans "to put their shoulders to the grindstone".

I'm assuming that the Obummer family will join the rest of us at the grindstone as soon as their Xmas vacation at the $3500-a-day Hawaiian house is over.

Bah, Humbug vs Merry Xmas

Bah, Humbug: My computer died Christmas Eve morning.
Merry Xmas: Santa brought me a new Notebook.

Bah, Humbug: I have to learn all the new buttons and doodads, plus load all my data.
Merry Xmas: I backed up all my data, pictures, music, movies, etc just a few days before.

Bah Humbug: Tooth #3 had to have a rush RTC (root canal) one week before Xmas.
Merry Xmas: It was healed in time in enjoy a delicious Xmas dinner.

Bah, Humbug: My baby boy is in a far-away place this year.
Merry Xmas: As far-away places go, it could be worse; we got a phone call on Xmas Day; and his spirits are very good!

The Abominable Anthonys

This is not about Caylee, the murdered two-year-old whose skeletonized remains were found December 12th, 5 months after her grandmother reported her missing, 6 months after she actually went missing, but rather about George and Cindy Anthony, Caylee's grandparents.

I acknowledge their grief; they obviously loved the child very much.

I don't have much sympathy for anything else about these two.
Their behavior during the ordeal is disturbing, to say the least.

The Anthony mantra "You need to be out looking for our granddaughter!", was usually delivered from their front yard following confrontations with non-believers (those who suspected the child was not kidnapped). Although George did drive around with a huge billboard on a trailer, that's not exactly searching. Why he felt the need to do that when the local news coverage was non-stop and wider-reaching (and free), I don't know.

They opened a trust fund: "Help Find Caylee". Twice. The original fund had been closed after the bank administering the fund received allegations of charity fraud.

They also accepted donations at a local Publix. I don't know if this money found its way into the trust fund.

Cindy is the one who called 911 to report Caylee missing.

She told the dispatcher about the smell of a dead body in her daughter's car. Now she wants us to believe it was rotting pizza. Not so, says the Body Farm.

Cindy also intentionally gave investigators the
the wrong hairbrush when they requested Caylee's. Can we say obstruction of justice?
After the child's remains were found, the Anthonys announced they were accepting donations to pay for their granddaughter's burial.

Apparently they received a lot of feedback about that, as the family said a few days later that they would not seek donations.

I really hope these people are not planning ask for donations to pay for their lying, party-girl, daughter's defense.

Faster Than Instantly

One of our local television reporters *cough* Steve Barrett *cough* , reporting from the scene where the remains of murdered child Caylee Anthony were found, said that the crowd of on-lookers "appeared instantly, some being there even faster".

Faster than an instant?

Even though there apparently is a unit of time faster than an instant (a quinstant), people not living in a star trek universe do not travel this way.

Except for the local news.

The Latest Radical Chic

It seems to me that something is very wrong in this country when the so-called Best Defense goes to those who are trying to destroy it rather than to those who are trying to defend it.
Within the ranks of our leading law schools, law firms and legal centers, it would be hard to find a cause more popular than the detainees of Guantanamo Bay. Every lawyer wants his own detainee or detainee group. The result is that dozens of the world's most dangerous men now have their own legal Dream Teams. - Op-Ed from WSJ:

So It Begins

Hope and Change?
Nope.
Same old politics as usual.

President-elect Barack Obama's staff has declined to respond to even basic questions about an internal investigation into what conversations Obama's aides and advisers may have had with Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich.
Didn't take long, did it?

Abbey, Meredith, and the US Post Office

I was sorting through some old e-mail that I had saved and came across a "Dear God" letter.

Now, I'm not a religious person, but I don't have a problem with people who are, except for those In-your-face-believe-as-I-do-or-die-fanatics, but I digress.

Since the news these days is full of people doing horrible things to other people, I thought it might be the right time for a post about the kindness of strangers.

Have a clean sleeve handy.

POSTAL SERVICE COMES THROUGH

Our 14-year-old dog, Abbey died last month.
The day after she died, my 4-year-old daughter, Meredith, was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey.

She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could, so she dictated these these words:

Dear God,
Will you please take special care of our dog, Abbey? She died yesterday and is in heaven. We miss her very much. We are happy that you let us have her as our dog even though she got sick. I hope you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and to swim. I am sending some pictures of her so when you see her you will know that she is our special dog. I really do miss her.
Love, Meredith

PS: Mommy wrote the words after Meredith told them to her

We put the letter in an envelope with two pictures of Abbey and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it. Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office. For a few days she asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had.

Yesterday there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed "To Meredith" in an unfamiliar hand.

Meredith opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers titled, "When a Pet Dies". Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope. On the opposite page was a picture of Abbey & Meredith taped under these words: "For Meredith".

We turned to the back cover and there was the other picture of Abbey and this handwritten note on pink paper:

Dear Meredith,
I know that you will be happy to know that Abbey arrived safely in heaven. Having the pictures you sent to me was a big help. I recognized Abbey right away.

You know Meredith, Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog. Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I can't keep your beautiful letter. I am sending it to you with the pictures so you will have this book to keep and remember Abbey.

One of my angels is taking care of this for me. I hope the little book helps.

Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you.
Love, God

Not Forgotten: Pearl Harbor

On December 7th, 1941 the Japanese launched a surprise attack against the U.S. Forces stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. By planning the attack on a Sunday, Japanese commander Admiral Nagumo hoped to catch the entire fleet at Pearl Harbor, but the aircraft carriers and one of the battleships were not in port.

When it was over, the U.S. losses were:
US Navy: 2,008 KIA, 710 WIA
US Army: 218 KIA, 364 WIA
USMC: 109 KIA, 69 WIA
Civilians: 68 KIA, 35 WIA
TOTAL: 2,403 KIA, 1,178 WIA.
Battleships at Pearl Harbor, December 7th:
USS Arizona - Total loss when a bomb hit her magazine; 1,177 lost
USS Oklahoma - Total loss when she capsized and sunk in the harbor; 429 lost
USS California - Sunk at her berth.
USS West Virginia - Sunk at her berth.
USS Nevada - Beached to prevent sinking.
USS Pennsylvania - Light damage
USS Maryland - Light damage
USS Tennessee - Light damage
USS Utah - Sunk
The USS Arizona sank in nine minutes and burned for over two days.
There were 1.4 million gallons of fuel on the USS Arizona when she sank.
Over 60 years later, approximately two quarts of oil a day still surface from the ship.
Pearl Harbor Survivors refer to the oil droplets as “black tears.”
There were 37 sets of brothers assigned to the USS Arizona on December 7, 1941.

The majority of the USS Arizona’s crew members went down with the ship: 1,177 perished, 337 survived.
This was the greatest loss of life on any U.S. warship in American history.

Chutzpah: Flagrant Boldness

And in LOLspeak, they haz it!

Barky Obummer, who raised MILLIONS of dollars during his campaign, is asking his vast list of donors for MORE money to pay off Hillary Clinton's "massive" campaign debt.

Obama asks donors to pay Clinton campaign debt

In other words these two personal millionaires are sticking it to the American people.   Again.   Get used to it.

Is This Guy Kidding?

William Ayers, UNREPENTANT DOMESTIC TERRORIST, is now calling himself an 'extreme vandal'.

"We did carry out symbolic acts of extreme vandalism ..."
Symbolic?
You set bombs off in public places.
And you would have blown up US soldiers and civilians at Ft. Dix in 1970 if the bombs intended for them hadn't detonated early, killing the 3 'extreme vandals' who happened to be assembling them. Recovered in the rubble were four 12″ pipe-bombs filled with dynamite, using roof nails as shrapnel designed to add lethality to the blast, and more than 50 sticks of dynamite, some of it fused in eight-stick bundles that could level entire buildings.

Extreme Vandalism?
This must be the politically correct term for domestic terrorism.

According to Merriam-Webster's OnLine dictionary:
Terrorism - violent or destructive acts (as Bombing) committed by groups in order to intimidate populations or government.

"I was cast in the “unrepentant terrorist” role.."
You were, and are, unrepentant.

"I don't regret setting bombs. I feel we didn't do enough."
You were a terrorist.
And you got away with it because of a technicality.

This unrepentant "extreme vandal" is teaching your kids.

No, he's not kidding.

Read all of his pretty, self-serving words here.

I'm surprised this guy is not calling himself an 'overly aggressive pacifist'.

Big Bad ... Disney

A leading Catholic cleric has
accused Disney of corrupting children and encouraging greed.

Christopher Jamison, the Abbot of Worth in West Sussex, warns that "society is in danger of losing its soul because of growing consumerism and the decline of religion".

As to the 'losing its soul' remark, I refer the Abbot to recent news from Mumbai. I seriously doubt that any of those terrorists were corrupted by anything related to Mickey Mouse. No, something much more sinister and evil corrupted their souls.

As to the 'decline of religion' remark, perhaps the Abbot is concerned that people are spending their money with Disney rather than tithing to the Church.

Semper Shameful

Apparently if you serve your country in uniform for 25 years and if your son is killed while serving his country in uniform, your 1st Amendment rights are forfeit.

Jesse Nieto, a 25-year Marine veteran and father of one of the 17 sailors killed in the 2000 USS Cole terrorism attack, has been banned from driving his truck when visiting his son's grave at the Arlington National Cemetery.

The reason?

Because of displaying this “offensive material":

In fact, his truck has been banned from all federal installations until the "offensive" decals are removed.

And who issued this order?

The Base Magistrate, Camp Lejeune.

Because of 'complaints'.

Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of the Thomas More Law Center, commented:

“The banning of these decals is political correctness run amuck in the military. Our troops are being killed by Islamic terrorists, 9/11 was caused by Islamic terrorists, these terrorists want to destroy America, the Islamic countries persecute Christians, and now the military is victimizing a father whose son was killed by Islamic terrorists while serving our nation.” “I suspect the next thing the Marine command will want to do is eliminate the Marine’s Hymn since the phrase ‘to the shores of Tripoli’ celebrates the Marine victory over Islamic forces in the Barbary Coast War and the Battle of Derne.”

More HERE.

How soon will it be before this decal is banned?

Not Forgotten: Our Veterans

A VETERAN is someone who, at one point in one's life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount of "up to and including my life".

That is HONOR, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

It is the Soldier, not the reporter who has given us freedom of press.

It is the Soldier, not the poet who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer who gives us freedom to demonstrate.

It is the Soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and who's coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag.

Happy 233rd, Marines

LC 0311 crunchie I.M.H. over at the Rottweiler Empire has the list of 233 reasons to love the Corps.

My personal reasons are: husband and son.

Fallen Hero: LCpl Christopher Aldesperger

November 10, 2004

Fallujah, Iraq Operation al Fajr On 10 November 2004, Kilo 3/5 began clearing houses in a pre-dawn Operation. They encountered only “minor resistance” until the last house. Like most houses in Fallujah, it had a walled compound around the house and an outdoor stairway leading to the roof.

"As the Marines breached the compounds gate, the insurgents sprang a “Chechen Ambush”, in which they hoped to wound the initial Marines and then kill the corpsman and other Marines who rushed to their aid. Lance Cpl. Erick Hodges was immediately hit by a hail of bullets, killing him instantly. Navy Corpsman Alonso Rogero was hit in the stomach while Lance Cpl. Ryan Sunnerville was hit in the leg. Hopping on one leg L/Cpl. Sunnerville pushed forward under a barrage of hand grenades, engaging the insurgents with his M-16 at a range of less than 20 yards.

PFC Christopher Aldesperger rushed forward, engaging a concealed machine gun position while he helped Rogero and Sunnerville to the only cover available, the stairwell to the roof. Once secure in the relative safety of the rooftop, Aldesperger single-handedly held off insurgents storming the stairway. With blood streaming down his shrapnel peppered face, he watching in silent rage while insurgents peppered the lifeless body of L/Cpl. Hodges with bullets, including two head shots. When one insurgent rushed forward to grab Hodges weapon, Aldesperger dropped him with one round.

Unable to engage the machine gun position under his feet which was pinning down the Marines, PFC Aldesperger, using the 40 mm M-203 grenade launcher, blasted a hole in the floor through which he could return fire on the MG position. The insurgents half-heartedly returned fire and fled, allowing the Marines outside the courtyard to stage an assault. Four insurgents attempted to flee into the courtyard. PFC Aldesperger dropped each with a single shot. They joined 11 other dead insurgents inside the building, all killed by PFC Aldesperger’s M-16 fire through the improvised hole he had made in the floor.

The building had in fact been a central command and control post and Col. Patrick Malay, 3/5’s battalion commander, estimated that if it had not been subdued quickly, primarily due to PFC. Aldesperger’s actions, it may have thrown off the entire Fallujah timetable.

Once L/Cpl Hodges body had been recovered, the buildings walls were breached by an LVPT7 amphibious assault vehicle. PFC Aldesperger insisted on being the first in to ensure the only hajis left inside were dead.

At a company formation on Thanksgiving weekend, PFC Aldesperger was meritoriously promoted to Lance Corporal for his actions on the Marine Corps Birthday.

He was also nominated for the Medal of Honor.

Less than two weeks later L/Cpl. Aldesperger was killed in a sudden fusillade of bullets as he approached a house. Hit by multiple rounds in his body armor, the impact had spun him around, exposing his unprotected side. A single round had penetrated to his heart.

In April 2007 Lance Corporal Christopher Aldesperger’s family were presented a posthumous Navy Cross for his heroic actions of November 10, 2004 in Fallujah."

Michelle Obama, First Lady-To Be

From the mouth of America's next First Lady:
"The truth is, in order to get things like universal health care and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more."
> NF: Let's start with your six-figure income and million-dollar house.

"For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country.
> NF: But not for the successes of our space program, the end of the Cold War, or Iraqi independence.

I hope that you are proud of your country, if only for the second time in your adult life, for electing your husband who has accomplished nothing memorable until now to be POTUS. <

Diantha Harris, Social Progressive Activist

This is what American children are being exposed to in a so-called 'learning environment' .

Note: This was in Fayetteville (near Fort Bragg), not Asheville.

Thanks to the Tundra Tabloid

Update:
You'll notice that when asked why he's supporting Obama, the (black) boy responds, "I'd like a black president", the so-called 'educator' says nothing about the racist remark. Just imagine if one of the kids supporting McCain had replied "because he's white".

Had this person's child been 'educated' in this manner, she'd be all up in somebody's ass.

And, unfortunately, there are many more teachers, should I say 'political agenda activists' -or- social progressive agents, just like her, shaping your children's minds with their poison.

America's Historic Disaster

Oh. My. Goodness. I have a new hero.

From iowahawk, blogger extraordinaire:

Election Analysis: America Can Take Pride In This Historic, Inspirational Disaster

Although I have not always been the most outspoken advocate of President-Elect Barack Obama, today I would like to congratulate him and add my voice to the millions of fellow citizens who are celebrating his historic and frightening election victory. I don't care whether you are a conservative or a liberal -- when you saw this inspiring young African-American rise to our nation's highest office I hope you felt the same sense of patriotic pride that I experienced, no matter how hard you were hyperventilating with deep existential dread.

Yes, I know there are probably other African-Americans much better qualified and prepared for the presidency. Much, much better qualified. Hundreds, easily, if not thousands, and without any troubling ties to radical lunatics and Chicago mobsters. Gary Coleman comes to mind. But let's not let that distract us from the fact that Mr. Obama's election represents a profound, positive milestone in our country's struggle to overcome its long legacy of racial divisions and bigotry. It reminds us of how far we've come, and it's something everyone in our nation should celebrate in whatever little time we now have left.

Less than fifty years ago, African-Americans were barred from public universities, restaurants, and even drinking fountains in many parts of the country. On Tuesday we came together and transcended that shameful legacy, electing an African-American to the country's top job -- which, in fact, appears to be his first actual job. Certainly, it doesn't mean that racism has disappeared in America, but it is an undeniable mark of progress that a majority of voters no longer consider skin color nor a dangerously gullible naivete as a barrier to the presidency.

It's also heartening to realize that as president Mr. Obama will soon be working hand-in-hand with a former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard like Senator Robert Byrd to craft the incoherent and destructive programs that will plunge the American economy into a nightmare of full-blown sustained depression. As Vice President-Elect Joe Biden has repeatedly warned, there will be difficult times ahead and the programs will not always be popular, or even sane. But as we look out over the wreckage of bankrupt coal companies, nationalized banks, and hyperinflation, we can always look back with sustained pride on the great National Reconciliation of 2008. Call me an optimist, but I like to think when America's breadlines erupt into riots it will be because of our shared starvation, not the differences in our color.

It's obvious that this newfound pride is not confined to Americans alone. All across the world, Mr. Obama's election has helped mend America's tattered image as a racist, violent cowboy, willing to retaliate with bombs at the slightest provocation. The huge outpouring of international support following the election shows that America can still win new friendships while rebuilding its old ones, and provides Mr. Obama with unprecedented diplomatic leverage over our remaining enemies. When Russian tanks start pouring into eastern Europe and Iranian missiles begin raining down on Jerusalem, their leaders will know they will be facing a man who not only conquered America's racial divide but the hearts of the entire Cannes film community. And those Al Qaeda terrorists plotting a dirty nuke or chemical attack on San Francisco face a stark new reality: while they may no longer need to worry about US Marines, they are looking down the barrel of a strongly worded diplomatic condemnation by a Europe fully united in their deep sympathy for surviving Americans.

So for now, let's put politics aside and celebrate this historic milestone. In his famous speech at the Lincoln Memorial 45 years ago, Dr. King said "I have a dream that one day my children will live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."

Let us now take pride that (on) Tuesday we Americans proved that neither thing matters anymore.

Change is Coming

The candidate of Change who promised "Change We Can Believe In", then Changed that slogan to "Change We Need" is now in position to Change Our Lives.

Changes like:

nationalizing health care, unilaterally disarming our nuclear weapons, pushing the Global Poverty Act, appointing judges (that are left of Ruth Bader Ginsberg, passing legislation banning handguns, greatly increasing federal spending by euphemistically disguising it as a stimulus package, or increasing taxes on producers and expanding "redistribution"

Changes like:

imposing limitations on private executive salaries, empowering labor unions, further nationalizing public education with the leftist indoctrination agenda of the National Education Association, further opening our borders, ratifying the Kyoto climate change treaty, abandoning Israel, retreating and surrendering in Iraq, dramatically reducing the defense budget, and possibly reinstating the draft in the name of racial equity.

Changes like:

nationalizing our private 401(k) funds, abusing governmental power to target and investigate dissent from ordinary "Joes," and implementing the Fairness Doctrine to shut down political dissent from his talk radio critics.

Oh, yes, Change is coming.

Good Onya, Michael

Journalistic ethics aren't a lost cause quite yet:

Media's Presidential Bias and Decline

By Michael S. Malone

"The traditional media are playing a very, very dangerous game -- with their readers, with the Constitution and with their own fates.
The sheer bias in the print and television coverage of this election campaign is not just bewildering, but appalling. And over the last few months I've found myself slowly moving from shaking my head at the obvious one-sided reporting, to actually shouting at the screen of my television and my laptop computer.
But worst of all, for the last couple weeks, I've begun -- for the first time in my adult life -- to be embarrassed to admit what I do for a living. A few days ago, when asked by a new acquaintance what I did for a living, I replied that I was "a writer," because I couldn't bring myself to admit to a stranger that I'm a journalist."
Read the rest HERE

As my Aussie friend would say: "Good Onya, Michael", for having the courage and the honesty to write it like it is.

White Guilt, Black Racism & Obama

Another blogger whose way with words is far superior to mine:

... I'll ask the question: Should Obama get a free pass on judgments in character matters BECAUSE he has black skin?

The answer is NO. He who would be president of the United States must walk the gauntlet all others have walked - bloodied and unbowed - before him.

Affirmative action does not rea
ch as far as the presidency...

Should Obama not be crowned the president, his wife will say, "The ugly white man did it."

But she will be wrong; she will have no farther to look for the cause of his defeat than to herself, to Jeremiah Wright, to William Ayers, and to Tony Rezko along with Louis Farrakhan and most prominently, she must face the ugly truth that his defeat will have been brought about by Obama himself.

It is time for white Americans to get over the spoons full of "white guilt" that have been the gruel served cold to us since our infancy for acts of slavery perpetrated upon black Africans by Muslims, black African chieftains, Dutch slave tra
ders and others.

America ended slavery in the South in the 1860s. Over 500,000 of us died in a matter of States' Rights on trade couched as a "war against slavery", another lie.

However, no black person in America today has been a slave and no white American has owned a black slave.
(emphasis mine)

More white Americans are living in poverty than black Americans and black Americans have more opportunities than any other Americans living today.

Black Americans who fixate on Black Liberation Theology - racist by any standard, as is Kwanzaa - simply perpetuate the ideas of separatism and entrench black racism.

[No comments about the black experience in mean old America today in 2008 will be published. I'm sick of listening to that "dead horse" that is poisoning our youth.]

No, if Obama is defeated in his campaign for the presidency, he must understand that the "buck stops" with him and his words and actions.

White America has bent over backwards to give him the presidency, and I mean "give." It's time for him to earn the presidency the hard way and it's time for us to clean our guns and get back to our Bible study.

If he is elected president of the United States, then the pressure will be on to see if he can stand the heat in the crucible of that office. We already know he will set out the welcome mat for the very Islamic terrorists who continue to kill across the globe today.

If Dems want to get behind a cause, why not put "global warming" on the back burner, and fight Islamic terrorism instead of putting on a silk scarf as Nancy Pelosi did and sitting down to tea?

It is one thing to sit down to talk with people with whom you can reason; it is a fool's errand to sit down with folks who really, really want to kill you and say so...

A Guy Named Joe

From an on-line newsgroup:
Let's See ---- A Guy named Joe, who happens to be a plumber with ambitions for a bigger business, questioned and challenged a Guy named Barack, who happens to be running for President of the USA/Leader of the Free World.

And within 24 hours the Media has given us more information about Joe's life than they've given us about Barack's life in the past 18 months.

Thanks to a diligent press corps, we now know about Joe's professional licensing status, his income tax situation, his employment history, his domestic squabbles, his voting record, everything associated with his personal identity; his education.

It's probably been reported somewhere whether he wears boxers or briefs.

Thanks to a lazy press corps we still don't know: what grades Obama made in college; how he got into Harvard; when he met Bill "the bomber" Ayers; when he stopped doing illegal drugs; his medical history; whether he still smokes cigarettes; the extent of his affiliation with socialist/communist organizations; why he's no longer a licensed attorney; whether he'd qualify for a security clearance if he were just an "average Joe"; what passport he used to travel to Pakistan in 1981; whether he was or still is an Indonesian citizen; why his Kenyan grandmother insists he was born there; whether he was ever legally named Barry Soetoro or anything else besides Barack Hussein Obama; why he needed the help of a crook to purchase his family home; where he was on Nov. 6 and 7, 1999; what the long-version of his birth certificate says; why he helped an anti-American, pro-Islamic candidate for Kenyan President against US interests; why he listened to Rev. Wright's sermons for 20 years; how many times he took his kids to a Rev. Wright sermon; what he actually did as chair of the Annenberg Challenge; the depth of his relationship with ACORN.

Well, you get the idea. But, really, I am SO relieved that the Mainstream Media has done its job vetting Joe The Plumber, who is NOT running for public office, but who had the AUDACITY to challenge Barack Hussein Obama, who wants my vote for President of the United States of America."

Fallen Hero: Spec. Stephen Fortunado

H/T to
Wake Up America

This was a blog entry on Army Specialist Stephen Fortunato's blog, dated Aug. 30, 2008, and was sent to the Boston Globe by his mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Crawford.

From Boston Globe:
If I may … I'd like to say something....Just to get it out there so it is clear. To all the pampered and protected Americans who feel it is their duty to inform me that I am not fighting for their freedom, and that i am a pawn in Bush's agenda of greed and oil acquisition: Noted, and [expletive deleted] You.

I am not a robot. i am not blind or ignorant to the state of the world or the implications of the "war on terrorism." i know that our leaders have made mistakes in the handling of a very sensitive situation, but do not for one second think that you can make me lose faith in what we, meaning America's sons, daughters, fathers, and mothers in uniform are doing. I am doing my part in fighting a very real enemy of the United States, i.e. Taliban, Al Qaida, and various other radical sects of Islam that have declared war on our way of life. Unless you believe the events of 9/11 were the result of a government conspiracy, which by the way would make you a MORON, there is no reasonable argument you can make against there being a true and dangerous threat that needs to be dealt with. i don't care if there are corporations leaching off the war effort to make money, and i don't care if you don't think our freedom within America's borders is actually at stake. i just want to kill those who would harm my family and friends. it is that simple. Even if this is just a war for profit or to assert America's power, so what? Someone has to be on top and I want it to be us. There's nothing wrong with wishing prosperity for your side.

I am a proud American. i believe that my country allows me to live my life more or less however i want to, and believe me, i have seen what the alternative of that looks like. i also believe that our big scary government does way more than it has to to help complete [expletive deleted]-ups get back on their feet, a stark comparison to places where leaders just line their own pockets with gold while allowing the people who gave them their power and privilege to starve.

I have chosen my corner. I back my country, and am proud to defend it against aggressors. Also, if you dare accuse us of being inhumane, or overly aggressive because we have rolled into someone else's country and blown some [expletive deleted] up and shot some people, let me remind you of just how inhumane we COULD be in defending ourselves. Let me remind you that we have a warhead that drops multiple bomblets from the stratosphere which upon impact, would turn all the sand in Iraq to glass, and reduce every living thing there to dust. Do we use it? No. Instead we use the most humane weapon ever devised: the American soldier. We send our bravest (and perhaps admitably craziest) men and women into enemy territory, into harms way, to root out those whom we are after and do our best to leave innocent lives unscathed.

... One last thing...a proposal. i know it has been stated time and time again but i just think it is worthy of reiteration. If you find yourself completely disgusted with the way America is being ran, and how we handle things on the global stage, you can leave. Isn't that amazing? No one will stop you! If you are an anarchist, there are places you can go where there is no government to tell you anything. That's right...you are left solely to your own devices and you can handle the men who show up at your door with AKs in any way that you see fit. Just don't try good old American debate tactics on them because you will most likely end up bound and blind-folded, to have your head chopped off on the internet so your parents can see it. However if you insist on staying here and taking advantage of privilages such as free speach and WIC, keep the counter-productive [expletive deleted] to a minimum while the grown ups figure out how to handle this god-awful mess in the middle east.

Spec. Fortunado was killed October 14th with two other soldiers when their vehicle struck an IED in Afghanistan.

He was 25 years old.
