MSM AWOL at RNC

The MainStreamMedia was in attendance at the Republican National Convention, sorta.

 Diane, Matt, Katie, Charlie, Brian, et al made sure that comparisons were made to the Obamessiah's coronation every chance they had; 

they made sure to show delegates at parties while New Orleans was being evacuated (even tho the convention activities were suspended and Monday was turned into a fund-raising for New Orleans day; 

But they did not show and barely mentioned the activities of the RNC Welcoming Committee.

A 24-year old soldier and veteran of tours in Iraq and Afghanistan was refused a hotel room at the Metro Hotel, Woking, Surrey, England, after he traveled to Surrey to assist with the funeral of a friend KIA.

Corporal Tomos Stringer of 13 Air Assault Support Regiment, The Royal Logistic Corps, was told that "it was company policy not to accept members of the Armed Forces."

"The corporal, who was not in uniform, presented his warrant card when asked by the hotel for proof of identity. After being refused a room, he had to bed down in his car, with his wrist, broken during a convoy ambush, encased in plaster."

The hotel issued a belated apology after angry calls flooded its phone lines and after Corporal Stringer’s MP, Hywel Williams, Derek Twigg, the Defence Minister, and Bob Ainsworth, the Armed Forces Minister, wrote to the hotel.

“The Metro Hotel, Woking, sincerely regrets any upset caused towards Corporal Stringer and his family . . . The hotel management has always had an open-door policy to all its visitors and guests, including members of the military and Armed Forces.”

Oh, and "the receptionist made a mistake".

"Corporal Stringer, of 13 Air Assault Support Regiment, The Royal Logistic Corps, has returned to Afghanistan. His mother, Gaynor Stringer, from Criccieth, North Wales, told The Times: “I’m very, very angry. It’s discrimination. They would never get away with it if it was against someone of ethnic origin.”

I wonder what the 'ethnicity' of the hotel management might be.

Former Marine Jose Nazario was acquitted by a civilian jury of manslaughter and related charges. (He left the Marine Corps in 2005 and was no longer subject to military law when the investigation began in 2006.)

Nazario, 28, went on trial in Riverside, California for killing two insurgent prisoners in Fallujah, Iraq, encouraging two subordinates to execute two other prisoners, and unlawfully using his rifle during the incident.

The government acknowledges that the enemy combatants the Marines allegedly killed have never been proven to exist. Neither is there an identifiable crime scene, forensic evidence, or any missing persons report, government evidence shows.

EXCUSE ME ... NO EVIDENCE ??

 

This is yet another disgusting example of what happens when a Politically Correct Congressionally-influenced Pentagon establishes Rules of Engagement. 

 

The government should not be allowed to train our men and women to do a job, then prosecute them for doing it. 

 

Our Marines, soldiers, sailors and airmen should never have to second guess the ramifications of their actions on the field of battle.

Hopefully, Jose Nazario will be reinstated as an officer with the Riverside Police Department. He was fired a year ago when he was arrested.

     If the 'greenies' had not forced environmental regulations, many companies might not have to use foreign labor. And then there are the unions. Don't get me started.

"Give 95 percent of you a tax break."
      If you cut all these taxes, where will you get the money to pay for your social programs? Oh, I know. You'll do what Bubba did. Cut the military in half.

"We are going to finally fix this health care system."

     Nobody I know, including my sister the nurse, wants the changes you would make to our health care system.

"We are going to make sure every child gets a world-class education," adding that teachers would be paid higher salaries.

      What do you mean by "world-class" education? More liberals teaching their own politically biased agenda? Adding the study of religion, particularly Islam, to the public school curriculum? Would incompetent teachers also get raises?

"We are going to gain the respect from people around the world."

      You obviously come from the Bubba Clinton School of Foreign Policy whose philosophy is based on the misguided idea that the world loves you so much, you can merely talk your way into and/or out of everything.

"I will end this war in Iraq."

     Ending the war is so much more important than winning the war.
