Matt Maupin Is Coming Home...

... at last.
“Matt is coming home. He’s completed his mission"
his father, Keith Maupin, said.

Army Sgt. Keith Matthew Maupin had
been listed as Missing-captured in Iraq since April 9, 2004, after his convoy was ambushed.

A week later the Al-Jazeera tv network aired a videotape showing Sgt Maupin sitting on the floor surrounded by masked men holding automatic weapons.
Then in June, another tape was aired that purported to show a U.S. soldier being murdered. The tape was dark and grainy, showing only the back of the victim's head.

Nearly four years after his capture, Sgt Maupin has been found in Iraq.
The U.S. Army notified the Maupin family that Matt had been identified through DNA.

Lest we forget: 3 U.S. soldiers remain listed as Missing-Captured.

The Mini-Me Clinton

Chelsea, the Mini-Me Hillary, has had a tough week.

First, while campaigning for Mom in Indiana, she was asked about the version of the Tuzla run-for-cover from the snipers-story (lie) Mom has been telling, and has (thankfully) at last been called on.
"Well sir, I think that my mother’s on record as having talked about this and I support what she said. I mean, I was there as well and I’m so honored that I was there."
A truly Clintonesque* answer.

Watch and Listen here

Then at another event, she was asked
whether her mother's credibility had been hurt during the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
"Wow, you're the first person actually that's ever asked me that in the, I don't know, maybe 70 college campuses that I've now been to and I do not think that's any of your business", responded Chelsea.
The question was regarding Mom's credibility which absolutely is our business, if she wants to be POTUS.
"Sorry to pile on, but listen up, hon. Seriously. “None of your business” isn’t going to cut it when you’re hammering the campaign theme that mommy has the judgment, guts, leadership, credibility, and steely grasp on reality to lead this nation under fire–imaginary sniper fire or otherwise." -Michelle Malkin
If Chelsea Mini-Me isn't willing to answer questions truthfully, or even answer them at all, why should we accept her glowing endorsement of Mom?

Hillary's Fantastical Adventure

Fantastical: conceived or seemingly conceived by unrestrained fancy; so extreme as to challenge belief
"I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base."
--Hillary Clinton, speech at GW University, March 17, 2008.
Liar.

The Washington Post does not remember it that way and here's the picture of the greeting ceremony that Hillary claims didn't happened:

The Post reporter:
"Had Hillary Clinton’s plane come “under sniper fire” in March 1996, we would certainly have heard about it long before now. Numerous reporters, including the Washington Post’s John Pomfret, covered her trip. A review of nearly 100 news accounts of her visit shows that not a single newspaper or television station reported any security threat to the First Lady. …

Far from running to an airport building with their heads down, Clinton and her party were greeted on the tarmac by smiling U.S. and Bosnian officials. An eight-year-old Moslem girl, Emina Bicakcic, read a poem in English. An Associated Press photograph of the greeting ceremony, above, shows a smiling Clinton bending down to receive a kiss.

According to Sinbad, who provided entertainment on the trip along with the singer Sheryl Crow, the "scariest" part was deciding where to eat. Sinbad questioned the premise behind the Clinton version of events. "What kind of president would say 'Hey man, I can't go 'cause I might get shot so I'm going to send my wife (and daughter). Oh, and take a guitar player and a comedian with you."

Replying to Sinbad earlier this week, Clinton dismissed him as 'a comedian'.

Clinton made no mention of "sniper fire" in her autobiography "Living History"."

I think it's obvious that the truth-teller here is the Comedian and not the Lying Clown running for POTUS.

Bravo Zulu, Doc

Army Spc. Monica Lin Brown ,
a 19-year-old medic from Texas became the first woman in Afghanistan and only the second woman since World War II to receive the Silver Star, the nation’s third-highest medal for valor.
Spc Brown, of the 4th Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, was part of a four-vehicle convoy patrolling near Jani Kheil in the eastern province of Paktia on April 25, 2007, when a bomb struck one of the Humvees.

Spc Brown used her body to shield wounded comrades as she ran through insurgent gunfire and mortar shelling.

“I did not really have time to be scared,” Brown said. “Running back to the vehicle, I was nervous (since) I did not know how badly the guys were injured. That was scary.”

The military said Brown’s “bravery, unselfish actions and medical aid rendered under fire saved the lives of her comrades and represents the finest traditions of heroism in combat.”

Wright and Wrong

From Robbie Cooper at
UrbanGrounds:
Barack Obama Shucks and Jives His Way Through Racism Speech
... If Barack Obama wanted to preach the story of unity and racial harmony,
perhaps he should have started with his own Reverend (Wright) and his own wife...

From Barack’s own mouth today: Did I ever hear him make remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in church? Yes.

Contrast that with his words from just a few days ago when he lied to the American public, “I have never heard Rev. Wright preach hatred of America.”

So what else is wrong?

How about this Hypocrisy ...

Obama 1st WH Contender to Call for Imus' Firing Over Racial Slur

"I understand MSNBC has suspended Mr. Imus, but I would also say that there's nobody on my staff who would still be working for me if they made a comment like that about anybody of any ethnic group. And I would hope that NBC ends up having that same attitude." Barack Hussein Obama to ABC News
It is my humble opinion that someone saying 'nappy headed ho' isn't quite in the same league as someone who spews the hate-filled, racially divisive invective as Reverend Wright has done:
“The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing ‘God Bless America.’ No, no, no, God damn America, that’s in the Bible for killing innocent people. God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme.” (2003)
“Barack knows what it means living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich white people. Hillary would never know that. Hillary ain’t never been called a nigger. Hillary has never had a people defined as a non-person.”
“The Israelis have illegally occupied Palestinian territories for over 40 years now. Divestment has now hit the table again as a strategy to wake the business community and wake up Americans concerning the injustice and the racism under which the Palestinians have lived because of Zionism.”
So Mr Imus apologized and got fired anyway. No apology from Rev Wright.

Oh, and someone should clue the Senator regarding the Cuban flag featuring Che Guevara flag hanging in his Houston campaign office...
A lot of patriotic Americans may find that disturbingly wrong. I certainly do.

And this ...
POTUS is the Wrong job for a man who cannot be bothered to put his hand over his heart for America.

Fallen Hero: Major Alan Rogers

From Field Notes:
WASHINGTON – Army Major Alan Rogers had no family of his own, so his friends became his family, and scores of them turned out Friday to say good-bye to him. Rogers was killed Jan. 27 by a roadside bomb in Baghdad. He was buried with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery.

An Army band led the procession down Bradley Road to Rogers' grave site, followed by a horse-drawn caisson and all of those friends – civilian and military, young and old, black and white, one of whom he contacted just hours before his death. "
"He just said he missed us and he couldn't wait to come home."

The Audacity of Hate

Senator Barack Hussein Obama has tried to distance himself from his "Mentor", but only since the furor that erupted last week.

The Autonomist   tells it:
Now that his racist, America-hating pastor Jeremiah Wright is finally in the spotlight, Barack Obama is making the media rounds denouncing Wright's controversial statements. However, there's strong evidence that Obama isn't being exactly truthful in his denunciations.

Presidential candidate Barack Hussein Obama preaches on the campaign trail that America needs a new consensus based on faith and bipartisanship, yet he continues to attend a controversial Chicago church whose pastor routinely refers to "white arrogance" and "the United States of White America."
In fact, Obama was in attendance at the church when these statements were made on July 22.

. . . Wright's strong sentiments were echoed in the Sunday morning service attended by
NewsMax
Wright laced into America's establishment, blaming the "white arrogance" of America's Caucasian majority for the woes of the world, especially the oppression suffered by blacks. To underscore the point he refers to the country as the "United States of White America."

Many in the congregation, including Obama, nodded in apparent agreement as these statements were made. [Emphasis added]

The sermon also addressed the Iraq war, a frequent area of Wright's fulminations. "Young African-American men," Wright thundered, were "dying for nothing." The "illegal war," he shouted, was "based on Bush's
lies" and is being "fought for oil money."

In a sermon filled with profanity, Wright also blamed the war on "Bush administration bulls--t."
Those are the types of statements that have led to MSNBC's Tucker Carlson describing Wright as "a full-blown hater."
Barack Hussein Obama has attended Wright's sermons for over twenty years.

By his own admission, Obama consults with Wright before making any "bold political decisions."

Obama calls Wright his "spiritual advisor."

He calls Wright one of his prime mentors.

Obama got the title of his book, "The Audacity of Hope," from a Wright sermon of the same name.

He says that Wright was extremely important in shaping his life and his views.

Obama and his wife were married by Rev. Wright.

Reverend Wright baptized Obama's daughters.

Barack Hussein Obama donated over $20,000 to Wright's church in 2006.

He continues attending services in Wright's church. In light of these realities, if you believe that Barack Obama doesn't largely agree with Reverend Wright's world view, I've got a bridge I'd like to sell you.
From Wright's sermons at the pulpit:
"We've got a paranoid group of patriots in power."

"Fighting for peace is like raping for virginity."

"We are doing the same thing that Al-Qaeda did with a different flag."

"Black men turning on black men- That is fighting the wrong enemy."

"If they can't find the weapons of mass destruction then they are going to do just like the LAPD and plant them some weapons of mass destruction."

"The stuff we have done overseas has now been brought back home to our own front yard."

"The government lied about the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color."

An Afterthought:

The incredibly vituperative, hate-mongering, race-dividing rhetoric aside, isn't there something in the Constitution regarding the separation of church and state?

These religious types who preach politics from the pulpit cross that line and the churches who permit it should no longer be allowed a tax-exempt status.
