Not Forgotten: National POW/MIA Day

Congress has set aside the 3rd Friday of September in each year as National POW/MIA Recognition Day.

It is a time to remember those who never came home and to remind us that, while we enjoy the privileges of freedom, somewhere there are soldiers who have not been accounted for and may, in fa
ct, be held against their will by the enemies of Freedom.

Three American soldiers from the Iraq War remain POW / MIA:

Since April 9, 2004:
Keith Matthew "Matt" Maupin, Sgt, United States Army.
Since October 23, 2006:
Ahmed Altaie, Iraqi-American Army Specialist and Linguist,

Since May 12, 2007:
Byron Fouty , age 19, Army pvt:
Alex Jimenez, age 25, Army Spc:

National POW / MIA Recognition Day

It is a time to remember those who never came home and to remind us that somewhere there are soldiers who have not been accounted for and may, in fact, be held against their will by the enemies of Freedom.

At the end of the Vietnam War, there reportedly were
2,583 unaccounted-for American Prisoners missing or killed in action/body not recovered.

As of April 11, 2007, there are 1,786 Americans still missing, over 90% of them in Vietnam or in areas of Laos and Cambodia where Vietnamese forces operated during the war.

The enormous crime is the deliberate abandonment of 700 US POWs in Vietnam and Laos back in 1973 — and the continued cover-up of the existence of these men.

Former North Carolina Congressman Bill Hendon spent the last 25 years digging into intelligence files in an effort to learn what really happened to those POWs:

..."right at the end of Operation Homecoming, the men were released in groups and when the last group was ready to come out, Watergate crashed down on Nixon. That was the beginning of the end for Nixon and the beginning of the end for the unreturned prisoners.

The Vietnamese were going to release them once they got their money. We promised to pay that $4.75 billion. They gave us half of our guys back and when they didn't get the money they kept the other half. The money was never even appropriated by Congress.

Back on Jan. 26, 1981, the North Vietnamese signaled to the new Reagan-Bush administration that they would "sell" living U.S. POWs for $4 billion."
The book is titled "An Enormous Crime; The Definitive Account of American POWs Abandoned in Southeast Asia", written by former Rep. Bill Hendon and Beth Stewart, published by St. Martin's Press.

John Kerry 'Swiftboats' POWS

Friday, September 21st, is National POW/MIA Day.

Since John Kerry is in the news again, I thought a memory re-freshening might be in order.

On April 22, 1971 John Forbes Kerry, aka Hanoi John, as a leader of Vietnam Veterans Against the War, gave his infamous war-bashing
Testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, declaring -under oath- that he and many other veterans of that conflict were war criminals, and insisting that the United States had a definite obligation to make extensive economic reparations to the people of Vietnam.

Kerry mentioned that while in Paris about a year earlier, he had meetings with "both sides" of the Paris Peace Talks.

No doubt he meant the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong sides.

U.S. Veteran Dispatch noted in 1996:
“Kerry's testimony, it should be noted, occurred while some of his fellow Vietnam veterans were known by the world to be enduring terrible suffering as prisoners of war in North Vietnamese prisons. Kerry was a supporter of the ‘People's Peace Treaty,’" a supposed ‘people's’ declaration to end the war, reportedly drawn up in communist East Germany. It included nine points, all of which were taken from Viet Cong peace proposals at the Paris peace talks as conditions for ending the war.”
One of those points was a provision offering to set a date for the return of U.S. prisoners of war in exchange for the Americans setting a date for complete, unilateral military withdrawal from Vietnam. In other words, America could have her POWs back only if we would agree we lost, surrendered, and set a date to leave.

Kerry blatantly advocated the enemy's position while hundreds of captured American fighting men suffered as prisoners of war in North Vietnamese prisons.

Robert J. Caldwell October 24, 2004, San Diego Union-Tribune:
"Virtually all of America's former Vietnam prisoners of war also believe – with good reason, as North Vietnam's army commander has since said publicly – that the anti-war movement Kerry helped lead in the early 1970s encouraged Hanoi to fight on despite the odds - and prolonged the imprisonment of American POWs."
... Skip ahead 20 years ...

Senator John Kerry was named chairman of the Senate Select Committee on POW/MIA Affairs in 1992.

Kerry repeatedly praised his former enemy during committee visits to Vietnam.

Kerry and his committee determined in a 500-page final report that American POWs were left alive in Vietnam after the war but felt none were still alive. It made NO attempt to identify those left behind, how they died, who killed them or where their remains might be located.

The Upshot: In 1991-1992, Senators John Kerry and John McCain hijacked the U.S. Senate Select Committee on POWs in southeast Asia to pave the way to normalizing relations with Hanoi by writing off American POWS and POW/MIA families who wanted definitive answers as to what happened to their men.

After Kerry declared to the world, “President (GHW) Bush should reward Vietnam within a month for its increased cooperation in accounting for American MIAs", Vietnam announced it had granted Boston-based Colliers International the right as the exclusive real estate agent representing Vietnam. The company was positioned to rake in multi-millions of dollars in future contracts to upgrade Vietnam’s ports, railroads and other infrastructure.

C. Stewart Forbes, chief executive officer of Colliers International, is John Forbes Kerry’s cousin.

Ironically, Kerry 2004 presidential campaign's Web site stated:
“When John Kerry returned home from Vietnam, he joined his fellow veterans in vowing never to abandon future veterans of America’s wars. Kerry’s commitment to veterans has never wavered and stands strong to this day."

"I apologize to no one." -- John Forbes Kerry

Maddie the Mouth Is Still Hurling

Madeleine Albright, known liar, is still
hurling 'em right and left (mostly Left).
Campaigning for Hillary Clinton in Iowa, Ms Albright characterized Clinton as `a caring person who understands the problems of real people`.

"There has been an attempt to portray her as a cold fish, and she is not. She's really a good friend and somebody who reaches out."
Yes, Hillary cares ... about herself and her ambitions.

Yes, Hillary reaches out ... for your money, for your vote, for whatever it takes Hill to get what Hillary wants.

Yes, Hillary is a good friend ... as long as you play by her rules.

Hillary understands nothing about the problems of real people because she hasn't been a real person for a really long time.

 But I digress.

Albright was the first female Secretary of State, serving during the Clinton Follies, and as such was caught lying to Congress about intelligence regarding the North Korean underground nuclear facility at Kumchang-ri.

She maintained all was well, that 'the Agreed Framework* had frozen North Korea's dangerous nuclear weapons'.

In August 1998, US Intel became public that showed suspicious site activity and later reports said samples of bark, leaves, soil, and waste water collected from around the site tested positive for traces of radioactive plutonium, thereby leading to further speculation that the site contained or produced plutonium.

Albright told frustrated Senators at a Senate committee hearing that she hadn't known until later in July. The head of the Defense Intelligence Agency interrupted her, "Madame Secretary that isn't correct".

She had been told months earlier.

Ms Albright visited Pyongyang 2000, when she drank champagne with the North Korean tyrant Kim Jong-Il and praised North Korean nuclear & missile programs.

 Maddie the Mouth's latest remarks:

"I believe that Iraq is going to go down in history as the greatest disaster in American foreign policy.  That means that I am acknowledging it is worse than Vietnam."
Vietnam with 58,000 American dead, turned into a politically correct war run by idiot Washington politicians and the CBS Evening News.
We didn't 'lose' Vietnam, no matter what Hanoi Jane Fonda, Walter Cronkite, Hanoi John Flip-Flop Kerry, and those drug-addled '60s flower-children-hippie liberals might think.

And as far as the 'greatest disaster in American foreign policy', that title goes to the eight years of Bubba Clinton's administration, in which Ms Albright played her part.

The inept Clinton foreign policy boiled down to "anything for peace", selling out to the Chinese and the North Koreans, ignoring the growing threat of Islamic terrorism, thinking 'sweet-talk' diplomacy solved all problems ... while the Chinese, North Koreans and Islamic terrorists laughed up their sleeves.

*Agreed Framework:  Oct 1994;  NK promised to freeze and eventually dismantle its nuclear program, to remain part of NPT ; to allow some IAEA inspection, although a full account of its weapons programs was put off;

In exchange - the US would build light-water reactors for the North & deliver 500 tons of heavy fuel oil (it is against US law to sell nuke reactors to countries in violation of NPT, so the Clinton administration planned to subcontract work to allies)

AND, according to the Agreed Framework, the only inspections North Korea must adhere to are IAEA inspections at specified facilities at the Yongbyon nuclear complex.

Thus, North Korea is not obligated to permit inspections of Kumchang-ri.

(Who's the genius that came up with this?)

Hildabeast and the Three Stooges

It's like a Brothers Grimm Fairy Tale,
only true,
and grimmer.

It has been reported (not in the MSM, no surprise) that Hillary Clinton has been relying on a triumvirate of senior officials from her co-presidency days.

Stooge # 1
Sandy “Docs In My Socks” Berger
(National Security)
Clinton National Security adviser who managed to pretty much get away with stealing and destroying classified documents from the National Archives. These documents were relative to the Clinton administration’s anti-terror efforts and went
missing right before Bill Clinton’s testimony to the 9/11 commission.

Stooge # 2
Richard Holbrooke (Foreign Policy)
Clinton administration US Ambassador to Germany (1993-94), Assistant Secretary of State for European and Canadian Affairs (1994-99), and UN Ambassador (1999-2001); A little known chapter in Holbrooke’s career in the US government is his complicity in Indonesia’s campaign of genocide against East Timor.

 Stooge # 3 Madeleine Albright
(God-Knows-What)
The Clinton Follies Secretary of State who LIED to Congress about intelligence regarding underground nuclear facility at Kumchang-ri; Then praised the North Korean nuclear and missile programs while drinking champagne with Kim Jong-Il, another known liar.

Apparently Hillary wants to get a head start on creating new Clinton scandals.

Welcome to Washington, General Petraeus

It's a sad, sorry state of affairs in this country when a principled, decent man does his job, does it well, and is blasted by a bunch of narrow-minded, hypocritical idiots (aka Congress) before he has a chance to speak one syllable.

Welcome to Washington, General Petraeus.
In the two days of hearings on Capitol Hill that you sat through, you were a helluva lot more impressive than the congressional idiots who had already made up their minds not to accept anything you might have to say.

These Congresspeople were elected to represent the American people.
The majority of them do not. They represent their own self-serving interests.

You probably didn't change any of their minds but at least your dignity and honor remained intact.

Even before the hearings began, Moveon.org, in the great tradition of liberal politics, accused General David Petraeus ("Betrayus") of "cooking the books" and charged him with 'betraying the American peoples' trust by spinning the facts so as to support the White House.

Our country is being betrayed alright, but not by our military ... By the damned liberal politicians and liberal organizations like Moveon.org and Code Pink-o. Barking Moonbats all.

General Petraeus' response to all the hubub:
“Needless to say I disagree with the message of those exercising the first amendment that so many generation of soldiers have fought and died protecting ...”
Congresspeople, especially you Lantos, Reid, and Clinton, take note: That was class.

Hillary and Funny Money, Part $$$

Hillary REALLY, REALLY wants to be president.
So much so that she's giving back money, a lot of it, to avoid yet another Clinton scandal -
$850,000 raised by Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu, one of her top fundraisers.

Hillary had previously planned to give only $23,000 to charity, but since the FBI is now investigating Hsu for allegedly violating election laws, the campaign
will now return a much larger wad of the funny money.

Hsu, regarded as a top party fundraiser, has raised and donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to Democratic Party groups and federal candidates since 2004. ... until recent reports surfaced that he was wanted on a warrant in California in connection with a 1991 grand theft charge, and may be looking at other federal charges. (Oops!)

The Clinton spin machine goes into overdrive.
The Clinton campaign has announced it will vigorously review its fundraisers, including thorough criminal background checks, in the future.

Hillary's campaign has never bothered to check where the money was coming from before...

Ms Clinton "simply didn't want to have to keep answering questions about a bundler whose background is now clearly in question," a senior adviser said, speaking only on condition of
anonymity.

Aha!
Hillary wasn't concerned about the origin of the money, she just didn't want the inconvenience of
explaining=denying=lying.
