MMM Missed These

The Mainstream Media Morons  ignored  missed  these:

Van Jones (WH Green Jobs advisor),

John Holdren (Science Czar),
Climate-gate,
politicizing the NEA,
Chas Freeman (NIC Chairman),
Tea Party protests,
 Kevin Jennings (safe School Czar),
Democratic stimulus

The 28th Amendment

This would be a great one:

Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives, and Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States .

My Congressman IS Nuts

Alan Grayson, Harvard graduate, who represents Florida's 8th district (and me) in the US House of Representatives, now wants to deprive Angie Langley of not only her 1st amendment right to freedom of speech but her personal freedom as well ... because she dared to create a website critical of him.

No kidding.

I have a BS degree from a mere state university, not from a high-falutin' Ivy League Institution of Higher Liberalism, but I DO understand what the 1st Amendment to the Constitution is all about.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Mr. Grayson swore to "support and defend" the US Constitution.

Apparently he thinks he can pick and choose which parts.

The Buck Stops Where

Toby Harnden is the Daily Telegraph's US editor based in Washington, DC

Barack Obama Gets an "F" for (not) Protecting Americans

The Highlights:
There is no more solemn duty for an American commander-in-chief than the marshaling of  “all elements of American power” – the phrase Obama himself used on Monday – to protect the people of the United States. In that key respect, Obama failed on Christmas Day, just as President George W. Bush failed on September 11th (though he succeeded in the seven years after that).

Yes, the buck stops in the Oval Office. Obama may have rather smugly given himself a “B+” for his 2009 performance but he gets an F for the events that led to Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab boarding a Detroit-bound plane in Amsterdam with a PETN bomb sewn into his underpants.  He said today that a  “systemic failure has occurred”.
Well, he’s in charge of that system.

The picture we’re getting is more and more alarming by the hour. Here are some key elements to consider:

...  Abdulmutallab’s father spoke several times to the US Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria and visited a CIA officer there to tell him, apparently, that he feared his son was a jihadist being trained in Yemen.  According to CNN, the CIA officer wrote up a report, which then sat in the CIA headquarters at Langley for several weeks without being disseminated to the rest of the intelligence community.

...  In his studied desire to be the unBush by responding coolly to events like this, Obama is dangerously close to failing as a leader. Yes, it is good not to shoot from the hip and make broad assertions without the facts.

But Obama took three days before speaking to the American people, emerging on Monday in between golf and tennis games in Hawaii to deliver a rather tepid address that significantly underplayed what happened. He described Abdulmutallab as an “isolated extremist” who “allegedly tried to ignite an explosive device on his body” phrases that indicate a legalistic, downplaying approach that alarms rather than reassures.

In the meantime, he went snorkeling.

... There has been a pattern developing with the Obama administration trying to minimize terrorist attacks. We saw it with Abdul Hakim Mujahid Muhammad, a Muslim convert who murdered a US Army recruit in Little Rock, Arkansas in June. We saw it with Major Nidal Malik Hassan, a Muslim with Palestinian roots who slaughtered 13 at Fort Hood, Texas last month.  In both cases, there were Yemen connections.

... Guantanamo Bay ...  As Mike Goldfarb asks: “Is the Obama administration seriously still considering sending some 90 Yemeni detainees now being held at Gitmo back to their country of origin, where al Qaeda are apparently running around with impunity?”

... Janet Napolitano, Obama’s Homeland Security Chief, has been a disaster in this, exhibiting the kind of bureaucratic complacency that makes ordinary citizens want to go postal.

... There’s a continued, unfortunate tendency for everyone in Obamaland to preface every comment about something going wrong with a sideswipe against the Bush administration. ...  It’s bordering on the juvenile. Obama’s been president for a year now. It’s time for him to accept that things that happen as his responsibility, not Bush’s. It’s time for him to echo Ronald Reagan, who said over Iran-Contra: “I take full responsibility for my own actions and for those of my administration.”

As with the Clinton co-presidency, the buck stops somewhere down the hall.

Obama's Thin Skin

This is not about Race.
And I shouldn't have to say that, but I do.

Barack Hussein Obama's skin is way too thin for a POTUS.

The liberal media morons (and other loonies) have coddled, encouraged and enabled this arrogant elitist nobody to believe that everybody loves him and everything he does and says is wonderfully messianic.

So, when someone dares to disagree or even question him, well, you risk incurring the displeasure, maybe even wrath, and definitely the sarcasm of Barack Hussein Obama.

So much for the fair, bi-partisan, and transparent government we were promised if only we would vote for him.

3 Days

That's how long it took Barack Hussein Obama to make a public comment on the attempted airplane bombing on Xmas Day.

ABC News actually put it, "interrupted his Hawaiian vacation".
Only since January 19, 2009, has an attempted terror attack been considered an interruption.

Barky actually used the words "allegedly" (the guy's pants were on fire) and "isolated extremist". Al Qaeda has claimed responsibility, and the guy's own father notified authorities regarding his son's radicalization. Did Barky mention that? Of course not.

It's a shame that your $4000 per-night Hawaiian vacation was interrupted, Barky, (and the golf game, tennis game, and picnic) but isn't POTUS a 24/7 job? Someone needs to tell Barky that his voting "present" days are long past.
US Rep. Peter King (R/NY): "We're now, what, 72 hours into this and the president has not spoken, the vice president has not spoken, the attorney general has not spoken and (Homeland Security Secretary) Janet Napolitano has now told two different stories in two days.

"It's very hard, even for me being on the Homeland Security Committee and the intelligence committee, to get any information out of this administration," King said.

Un-Bloody-Believable: Dhimmitude

The Rt Rev Stephen Venner , the new bishop for the U.K.'s Armed Forces:
"The Taliban can be admired for their Faith and Loyalty."

He does not want the Afghan insurgents "portrayed too negatively".

The Rt Rev Stephen Venner called for a more sympathetic approach to the Islamic fundamentalists that recognises their humanity.

What the hell?
Admiring their faith and loyalty? Their humanity?
These people whose faith values death over life? Whose faith includes stoning women to death? Whose humanity uses women and children as shields?

What's negative about that?

I wonder if Rev Venner has spent any time in the field with the troops in Afghanistan. I bet the answer is no.

Perhaps he and Peter Davies, the mayor of Doncaster who claimed "British society could learn from Taliban family values", could be guests of the Taliban. Experience the life. Without protection from any troops.

A Response to Obama's Quirky American History Lesson

The Opinionated Fool forwarded the following (which he found in a newsgroup, author unknown):
Islam is not part of America's story, Hussein ...

Barack Hussein Obama said, in his "New Beginning" Cairo speech (June, 2009):

"I know, too that Islam has always been a part of America's story."

Dear Mr. Obama:

Were those Muslims that were in America when the Pilgrims first landed?  Funny, I thought they were Native American Indians.

Were those Muslims that celebrated the first Thanksgiving day?   Sorry again, those were Pilgrims and Native American Indians.

Can you show me one Muslim signature on the United States Constitution?  Declaration of Independence? Bill of Rights? Didn't think so.

Did Muslims fight for this country's freedom from England?
 No.

Did Muslims fight during the Civil War to free the slaves in America?
No, they did not.

In fact, Muslims to this day are still the largest traffickers in human  slavery. Your own 'half-brother', a devout Muslim, still advocates slavery himself, even though Muslims of Arabic descent refer to black Muslims as "pug nosed slaves." Says a lot of what the Muslim world really thinks of your family's "rich Islamic heritage" doesn't it Mr. Obama?

Where were Muslims during the Civil Rights era of this country? Not present. There are no pictures or media accounts of  Muslims walking side by side with Martin Luther King Jr. or helping to advance the cause of Civil Rights.

Where were Muslims during this country's Woman's Suffrage era?  Again, not present. In fact, devout Muslims demand that women are subservient to men in the Islamic culture. So much so that often they are beaten for not wearing the 'hajib'  or for talking to a man who is not a direct family member or their husband.   Yep, the Muslims are all for women's rights aren't they?

At least when the Muslims are not beheading their own wives and daughters (5,000 times a year) in what they call "Honor Killings."

Where were Muslims during World War II?  They were aligned with Adolf Hitler. The Muslim grand mufti himself met with Adolf Hitler, reviewed the troops and accepted support from the Nazi's in killing Jews.

Finally, Mr. Obama, where were Muslims on Sept. 11th, 2001?

If they weren't flying planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon or a field in Pennsylvania killing nearly 3,000 people on our own soil, they were rejoicing in the middle east. No one can dispute the pictures shown from all parts of the Muslim world celebrating on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and other cable news networks that day.  Strangely, the very "moderate" Muslims who's asses you bent over backwards to kiss in Cairo, Egypt on June 4th were stone cold silent post 9-11. To many Americans, their silence has meant approval for the acts of that day.

And THAT, Mr. Obama, is the "rich heritage" Muslims have here in America.

The 'Enemy Camp'

According to major media moron Chris Matthews, the 'Enemy Camp' is The United States Military Academy at West Point.

After Barack Hussein Obama delivered his Plan-to-Lose-the-War-in-Afghanistan speech at West Point, Chris Matthews had this to say about the Cadets, those young men and women who are willing to put themselves between the horrors of war and the comforts of home for anti-military 'journalists' like Matthews and anti-military presidents like Obama:

I wonder if  the 'tingles' Obama was sending up this media moron's leg affected his brain.

Barky's Speech

Barack Hussein Obama gave a much-anticipated speech last night regarding the war in Afghanistan and our troops.

We waited over 3 months for it.

The words "I" and "me" were notably present and noticeably emphasized.

The words "win" and "victory" were nowhere to be heard.

Clint-O-Bama-Rama

Hillary Clinton and Barack Hussein Obama want an accountable, transparent government in Afghanistan -- as far as that can happen -- and a strong stand against corruption.

Okay, let's first consider the CO-presidency of which Hillary was a part.

If you google: 'Clinton presidency corruption', you get 2,740,000 returns.

Remember Whitewater? Cattlegate? Travelgate? Filegate? Vandalgate? Chinagate? Lippogate? Zippergate? Fostergate?  ad nauseum

Neither of the Clintons has ever accepted accountability for anything.

Now google 'Obama corruption'103,000,000 returns.

Google 'Obama transparency'4,400,000 returns.

Guess what?  The Barack Hussein Obama administration has argued in a recent court filing that the Privacy Act does not apply to the Executive Office of the President. So much for the most transparent administration ever.
Judicial Watch

ACORN. SEIU. Czars. Suspected document fraud (birth certificate -and- Selective Service Registration). Blagogate. TARP.

And it's not even a year yet.

Hamid Karzai has nothing on these two.

And as far as government corruption goes, perhaps we should clean out our House (and Senate)  -  John Murtha. Charley Rangel. Maxine Waters, etal  -  before criticizing theirs.

The Undecider President.Still.

Barack Hussein Obama has been thinking about making a decision on General McChrystal's additional troop request to bolster troops already in the field (i.e. Afghanistan War) since August. 3 months.

During these three months Barack Hussein Obama has:  flown to NYC to offer a tribute to Walter Cronkite (but not to NYC on 9-11),  flown to Copenhagen to lobby the IOC for the 2016 Olympics (even though Oprah and Michelle were already there).

Then he revved up AF One to attend the memorial service at Fort Hood. (Can we say major photo ops?)

Wouldn't that have been an absolutely appropriate time and place to announce his re-re-thought Afghan War strategy?

But no.  He doesn't like any of his options and wants more.

Is Barack Hussein Obama reluctant to send more American troops to war because he's concerned for them?

I doubt that's the reason.

Or is it because he just does not want to spend the money on the war?

MAYBE!

This guy has NO problem spending money.

During the first 100 days as POTUS, Obama signed a $787 billion stimulus bill into law, proposed a $3.6 trillion budget for the next fiscal year, took over a massive $700 billion Wall Street bailout program and created other billion-dollar programs.

It did not take 3 months for him to make those decisions
.

Some Leadership

From The GOOD LT at the JAWA Report:

Some "Leadership," Obama: Troop Morale Dropping in Afghanistan

Boy. The selfishness of our troops in Afghanistan. Thinking of only themselves and not the incredible burden and sacrifice that our Dear Leader Barack Obama is making for them by taking his time enacting the strategy he laid out in...March. It's November.
WASHINGTON – Morale has fallen among soldiers in Afghanistan, where troops are seeing record violence in the 8-year-old war, while those in Iraq show much improved mental health amid much lower violence, the Army said Friday.
Oh, so it's OK to admit that Iraq's stable now. After Bush made the decision to increase troop levels. Per his general's requests. In the face of criticism from everyone, including Obama himself. He's been given a model and told what he needs to do.

And yet, there's so much more to think about here. Like the 2012 election news cycle and the focus groups of Democrats next year.

The Fort Hood Outrage

We have a Pentagon full of political Generals with Politically Correct Rules of Engagement.

Real Clear Politics:

An Officer's Outrage Over Fort Hood

by Major Shawn Keller
As an officer in the United States Army, I'm angry for so many reasons over what happened at Ft. Hood. I'm angry that twelve of my fellow soldiers and a contractor were murdered. I'm angry that over thirty people have suffered life altering injuries from which they will never fully recover. I'm angry that the lives of so many families have been forever ruined. I'm angry that this happened on an Army post on American soil where soldiers should be safe. And I'm angry that the murderer was a terrorist who masqueraded as an Army officer for half a dozen years.

But as angry as I am at what happened, I'm even angrier that it was allowed to happen. Apparently, there was no shortage of warning signs that Hasan identified more with Islamic Jihadists than he did with the US Army. From speeches, writings, conversations, affiliations and postings on Jihadist websites, there were more than enough dots to connect that should have exposed Hasan as someone inclined to attack innocent people in the furtherance of a political, religious and ideological agenda. There were more than enough red flags raised that, at a minimum, should have gotten Hasan kicked out of the Army.
But just like September 11, those agencies and individuals charged with keeping America and Americans safe failed to connect the dots that would have saved lives. Jihadist rhetoric espoused by Hasan was categorically dismissed out of submissiveness to the concepts of tolerance and diversity. The Army as an institution has been neutered by decades of political correctness and the leaders in Hasan's chain-of-command failed to act accordingly out of fear of being labeled anti-Muslim and receiving a negative evaluation report. The counter-terrorism agencies knew Hasan was communicating with Al-Qaeda and dismissed it as academic research instead of delving deeper into the probability that a terrorist had infiltrated the ranks.

Even four hours after Hasan stood on a desk yelling Allahu Akbar! and opened fire, the FBI stated that they were not investigating the attack as an act of terrorism even as there were still reports of other gunmen on the loose. Meanwhile, the Army continues to dismiss it as a "tragedy" and an "isolated incident by a lone gunman" while the media has invented the psychological condition of post-traumatic stress disorder by proxy. There is more concern for promoting the appropriate information operation campaign and maintaining the illusion of safety than there is for actually exposing the weaknesses and faults in the system that allowed this to happen. We're even being told that damage to the Army's efforts at diversity would be a greater tragedy than the murder of the twelve soldiers -- how ironic the week of Veterans' Day.

This has nothing to do with being anti-Islamic. After numerous tours to Iraq and working with countless cultural advisors on Ft. Bragg, I know dozens of Muslims who I respect and admire greatly. This has everything to do with force protection and security being trumped by the concepts of political correctness and diversity. This has everything to do with a hypocritical system and culture that breeds timidity and dismissiveness in the interest of career advancement. If I preached a white-supremacist ideology or described Timothy McVeigh as a hero to the cause of freedom and liberty, how long do you think I would still be in the military drawing a salary, receiving educational benefits and getting promoted like Hasan did?

Hasan's radical ideology grew to the point that he committed mass murder because too many leaders were too afraid to lead out of fear of harming their career or the image of the Army. If those leaders don't have the intestinal fortitude, moral conviction or personal courage to stand up, speak up and protect soldiers, then retire, resign or get out of the way and let somebody else do it for you.

Shawn Keller is a Major in the United States Army stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Barky Obummer's Priorities

Yesterday afternoon, when Barack Hussein Obama made his initial public mention of the shootings/murders at Fort Hood, he FIRST spent two and half minutes thanking the Department of the Interior, plus giving a "shout-out" to Joe Medicine Crow, smiling and waving while he did so.

THEN, our so-called Commander-in-Chief deigned to mention the violence at Fort Hood.

And guess what.

In all of the replays on national news, including FOX, the FIRST two and a half minutes have been edited out, so that we have the impression that Barack Hussein Obama spoke only about the shootings / murders at Fort Hood.

Guess what else.

Someone captured the actual broadcast.

Notice the news banner, listen to his words, watch the timer.
The news from Ft. Hood should have been at the top of the list for the
Commander-in-Chief of our Armed Forces.  And that's BEFORE the media manipulation.

I am outraged at the insensitivity of Barack Hussein Obama, POTUS and Commander-in-Chief (as he keeps reminding us).

And I am outraged at the continuing manipulation by the media to make this  arrogant community organizer look competent.

A Disconnected President

NOTE: Joe Medicine Crow is a Medal of Freedom winner - NOT a Medal of Honor winner.

The Photo Op Prez

For the 1st time in 10 months Barack Hussein Obama has taken the time from his busy schedule of campaigning, golfing, etc. to pay his final respects to American troops KIA.

What took him so long?

Villainous Company  notes that the ban on photos at Dover was lifted back in February, 8 months ago ... and he could have gone to Dover 10 months ago.

Oh, but there would have been no cameras allowed then.

So begins the politicizing the deaths of American troops.

Blood Stripe

The "blood stripe" runs down each trouser leg of the dress blues worn by noncommissioned officers, staff noncommissioned officers and officers. The solid red stripe became part of the uniform in 1849.

Today, it serves to honor the memory of fallen comrades.

Ultimate Thrill Ride

One of my most favorite things at WDW is  The Tower of Terror

But this tops even that:

A civilian joyriding with his Air Force pilot friend, accidentally grabbed the eject lever while trying to brace himself.
He was instantly fired through the aircraft's perspex canopy and blasted 320 ft (100m) into the sky by the rocket-powered chair.
He then floated down to the ground with a parachute that opened automatically.

Holy Crow!!  What a ride!

And imagine the look on the pilot's face as the 'backseat' blasted off.

Don't Worry, Be Stupid

I read the Disney newsgroups because I'm a Disney freak and reading what others have to say about their experiences can be entertaining, enlightening... and sometimes infuriating.

Like this excerpt from a recent trip report:

Please be kind, this is my forst (sic) trip report.

The vacation: Myself, Wife, Daughter (age 8) and Son (age 5)

We went to the marina and rented two sea-racers.  The last time I rented a watercraft at WDW was when I was a teenager and it was a 1-person watersprite on Bay Lake.  Now that swimming in those waters is down-right dangerous, I was intrigued to find that the ond (sic) 1-person sea-racers had been replaced by two-person mini-boats.

After signing paperwork that I would not allow my son to pilot the boat, once out of sight of the dock, he took over and showed a pretty good level of piloting skill. He especially enjoyed yelling to people he saw that he was a "pirate pilot! We also enjoyed watching my wife try to pilot a boat for the first time in her life...a few rough spots and a near collision, but lots of fun.

So what's my problem with this?

# 1 : Letting the 5-year old pilot the craft after signing the paperwork specifically stating you wouldn't.  The paperwork is there to protect you, your family, the other guests, and Cast Members. Had you/your wife/your son had an accident I doubt your trip report would have been as 'cute' as you think it was.

Some example you're setting for your kids, buddy.

# 2 : The writer is a school teacher.

I wonder if the concepts of 'honesty' and 'personal responsibility' ever enter into his lesson plans?

Perhaps he is a 'social progressive educator' who believes that taking responsibility is for the other person who is always at fault anyway.

Pentagon to offer Swine Flu Vaccine to Terror Suspects

Even if the 200+ 'detained terror suspects', including the 17 ordered to be set free,  do not accept the free inoculation, it is a matter of principle, not numbers.

Golf War

Did you know that Barack Hussein Obama, ten months in office, has already tied George Bush, 8 years in office, for the number of rounds of golf played?

That's Obama's first ten months vs. Bush's total 8 years in office.

Perhaps if Barack Hussein Obama spent less time playing golf (and making campaign trips*) he could actually do the business he was elected to do.

You know, like making decisions about the war in Afghanistan.

Alan Grayson: Motor-mouth Moron

This is what's representing me in Congress:

FL Dummycrat calls Fed advisor "K Street Whore"

And his staff defends it!

I guess Mr Grayson's little bit of notoriety ( "Die quickly" ) went to his fat head.

Barack Hussein Obama recently referred to this idiot as "an outstanding member of Congress".  (Note: this is after both of Grayson's comments)  I guess Barky Obummer has a much different definition of 'outstanding' than I have.

Grayson is a first, and hopefully single, term Congressman.

The Few. The Proud. The One.

Do you know who Matthew Hoh  is?

He is a former Marine captain with combat experience in Iraq.

He is a former State Department foreign service officer based in Zabul, Afghanistan, a Taliban stronghold.

He is a man with the courage of his convictions.

He resigned his job because:

"I have lost understanding of and confidence in the strategic purposes of the United States' presence in Afghanistan. I have doubts and reservations about our current strategy and planned future strategy, but my resignation is based not upon how we are pursuing this war, but why and to what end. To put simply, I fail to see the value or the worth in the continued U.S. casualties or expenditures of resources in support of the Afghan government in what is, truly, a 35-year-old civil war."

and

"I trust you understand the nature of this war and the sacrifices made by so many thousands of families who have been separated from loved ones deployed in defense of our Nation and whose homes bear the fractures, upheavals and scars of multiple and compounded deployments.  Thousands of our men and women have returned home with physical and mental wounds, some that will never heal or will only worsen with time.  The dead return only in bodily form to be received by families who must be reassured their dead have sacrificed for a purpose worthy of futures lost, love vanished, and promised dreams unkept. I have lost confidence such assurances can anymore be made. As such, I submit my resignation."

Please watch your back. Semper Fi.

Barky Obummer's Bias Is Showing, Again

I wonder why this isn't Headline News in the MSM:

Barack Hussein Obama offers Million$ in Muslim Technology Fund

Perhaps because the majority of Americans whose tax money is funding this idiocy would be outraged.

Read some of the 465 comments.

     My Favorites:

Why not spend that money fixing America instead of fixing countries that'll end up using that against us?

How many weeks of unemployment would that money fund? The Muslim Oil Sheiks have trillions. Let them help their own. We have enough problems here like 10% and growing unemployment.

Why isn't there a bill to bolster Christian businessmen??? Isn't this just favoring one religion over another? Whatever happened to the liberal mantra of 'separation of church and state?'

Let us remember that Barack Hussein Obama couldn't be troubled to put his hand over his heart for the Star-Spangled Banner   ...

Joe Biden: Gaffe-tastic

This clown / jerk / joke is next in line to be President.

President Obama is so "distracted by his vice president's indiscipline" that he has been forced to rebuke privately Vice President Joe Biden, according to a new book by Newsweek journalist Richard Wolffe, who interviewed Obama a dozen times.
"He can't keep his mouth shut," Wolffe quotes a "senior Obama aide" as saying of the gaffe-prone Biden in "Renegade: The Making of a President".

There was a joke going around that Biden is Obama's 'insurance policy'.

Maybe that's not such a joke after all.

Today is the 16th day of October.

25 U.S. Troops have been killed this month in Afghanistan.

The month is only half over.

The troop increase request made in August by General McChrystal to Barack Hussein Obama, our Commander in Chief (as he reminds us) is

   still under consideration

even though Barack Hussein Obama, following "a careful policy review" proclaimed on March 27th that Afghanistan and Pakistan were "The central front in the War on Terror",

and on August 17th declared, "This is not a war of choice; it is a war of necessity."

But a decision is coming soon, within weeks, so we are told.

A Prediction

From The Opinionated Fool:

Suppose, just for a moment, that some unscrupulus political person, in a powerful national position (read: Barack Hussein Obama), might consider using American troops as pawns to advance an agenda. It sounds harsh, cruel, and so partisan as to be political science-fiction.

But think about this:
Barack Hussein Obama's health-care initiative is on the fence, big time. At first he wanted a bi-partisan bill; then determined that wasn't really necessary. Then other cracks appeared in the form of moderate and conservative Democrats. The health-care bill (the one that doesn't exist yet) stalled.

Enter stage right: Afghanistan, the war Barack Hussein Obama himself campaigned on as the 'right war' for this country. His personally-selected general submitted an assesment of the situation in Afghanistan along with a request for the additional troops, 40,000 to be specific. The assesment has sat on Barack Hussein Obama's desk for over a month now. Additionally, eventual meetings with Barack Hussein Obama and his military and civilian advisors has resulted in the the 'promise' of a decision on strategy and troop requests within the next few weeks - all while our troops are being killed.

(For all the folks out there with fathers/mothers/sons/daughters in the military, and as a parent of a U.S. Marine safely back from Iraq, the callousness of this hesitiancy is frightening.)

Now the prediction: At some point I will not be surprised if a 'deal' is struck. To garner support for the health-care bill among a few Republicans and, more importantly, moderate Democrats, the White House will use the Afghan troop request as a bargaining chip.

In essence: Give support to the health-care bill, get a quick decision on the troop request and war strategy. Cruel, but not surprising.

Remember, you read it here first.

The UnDecider President, Part II

Given Barack Hussein Obama's
   inexperience,
   ineptness,
   indecisiveness,
apparent lack of interest in the military (except when it comes to counting their votes),
and willingness to spend money on every-damn-thing except the military,

the decision regarding our troops in Afghanistan is easy:

Bring them home from Afghanistan. NOW.

From

Bill Kristol at the Weekly Standard
At today’s White House meeting, President Obama, I’m told, reminded the congressional leaders that every thousand troops sent to Afghanistan would cost about a billion dollars a year, and asked whether the lawmakers would really support $40 to $50 billion a year of additional spending for the war.

This particularly pathetic excuse for ducking his responsibility for doing the right thing in Afghanistan put me in mind of the brilliant, and mordant, 1969 Philip Larkin poem, “Homage to A Government.”
Next year we are to bring all the soldiers home
For lack of money, and it is all right.
Places they guarded, or kept orderly,
We want the money for ourselves at home
Instead of working. And this is all right.
It's hard to say who wanted it to happen,
But now it's been decided nobody minds.
The places are a long way off, not here,
Which is all right, and from what we hear
The soldiers there only made trouble happen.
Next year we shall be easier in our minds.
Next year we shall be living in a country
That brought its soldiers home for lack of money.
The statues will be standing in the same
Tree-muffled squares, and look nearly the same.
Our children will not know it's a different country.
All we can hope to leave them now is money.
At the rate the Obamanation is spending money, there won't even be that left.
